Hey man rules are rules. If she's livin at home with the parents she gotta go by what they say. I never understood that when i was 17 because i had a curfew too and hated it but I see it now! (somehow)

Well there's not much you can do about it. Parents house, parents rules. Yeah it sucks, but it's something you have to deal with. Next time she should come home on time. It's like you guys were going away anywhere for spring break. You were just going out to movies and food. Nothing too exciting. Just get use to it because once you get older, there are no more spring breaks.

Well, someday when you have your own place and are all growed-up, you can date women instead of little girls and they can stay out as long as they want. Though, they come with rules too.....some of them are very complicated.

BTW, as a father of two daughters, these posts just remind me that much more that I am going to be one of those so called "******".

There is alot missing from this story, such as do her grades suck? Do the parents think you are a bad influence? Has she been getting into trouble? And, does she really want to go out with you? Kids will often times use their parents as an excuse.

LOL - I love it when a parent says "I trust me kid." I guarentee that is a situation where a kid is doing what he/she should not be doing. When it comes to my kids, I prefer "trust, yet verify".

I can not tell you how many times as a teenager when I was goofing off with some chick or friend and I would be saying "hey, aren't you afraid we are gonna get caught?". The answer was always the same "My parents trust me". By in large, I was a good kid. High-honor roll, always had a job, played sports and was in the band.

Most dads of girls I dated thought I was God's-gift....you know, seemed like the perfect guy for their daughters.....if they only know.....and I was good. Makes me wonder about a bad kid - lol

Like I said "Trust, yet verify".

she is a A&B student, next year she is doing a EMT class where you go to school a half day and then the EMT the rest of the day and she will have a degree or w/e in that when shes done. she plans on going to college. but i know as soon as she's 18 she will be out of the house asap for reasons im not posting on here. she did play softball and swimming.

and me, well i had all A's up until the 7th grade then it straight dropped from there. freshman year i dropped out. now that i think back i wish i would have gotten my asskicked for slacking and **** and my dad's head busted for signing the papers. but now i am doing online courses and will have my H.S diploma. and i might do some courses to be a P.T and a year or two of college. my uncle( i have 8 uncles and none of them graduated h.s) dropped out his freshamn year and homeschooled himself and then went on to do 5 years of college and is now a history teacher and basketball coach at the school.

for the does she want to be with me part.. yes she does, she keeps her grades up to be with me and works even harder at home so she can be with me. i dont think she would have cried all day today if she didnt.

her mom likes me, i put speakers in her camaro... i do stuff for them( i put their christams lights up, bought their german shepherd a choke chain, plowed their driveway, shoveld it too lol, drove 20 miles to the nearest dairy queen for them lol, rent the newer movies for them, stuff like that i do). and i loooove her moms cooking lmao.

her dad, well we dont talk that much only pass a few words to eachother. hes a mechanic works from 7am-7pm 7 days aweek and makes close to 1G aweek. i guess he is still warming up to me. he's ok though

anyway her dad said yes when he got home around 7pm and let me stay till 11pm.
they have really let up on us about being together. my week usually goes like this mon-friday workout in morning and etc then i pick her up from school at 3pm then im with her at her house till about 9:30pm then on fridays and saturdays she's with me till 11pm and on sundays till 8pm.

im pretty happy with are relationship between me and her and her parents. they go camping every summer and stuff like that. her mom wants me to go with them this summer. lol

there's the problem! no way would i let my daughter go out with a boy who dropped out of highschool and has his own house. that's not good news for a daughter. nothing against you, you could be a great person. but, i know if i had a daughter i wouldn't think you could be that great of an influence.

im no different than you. prolly better than you.

anyway.... today she talked to her stepdad and he said i could go over there the rest of the week and she cant go anywhere.

she asked her mom today and she started btching and saying no and she was grounded the rest of the week and cant go anywhere or anything.
for ***** sake its springbreak, so she stayed out an hour later cause she thought it wouldnt matter cause it wasnt a school night

so why are they ******* treating her like this? did they think her last birthday was her 13th one? she 17, she has to call her mom to ask her even she can even walk down the road to the store and **** like that.

and nothing gives that jackass of her stepdad a right to slam her up against awall and then slam her head into the corner of the doorway either. its not even her stepdad its her moms boyfriend.

now i wouldn't start going around saying how you're probably better than us. just think of it this way, would you want your 17 year old daughter going to a guys house all by themselves? i don't care if you're a good kid and i loved you. i still wouldn't let that happen.

Sounds like we don't have even 50% of the story. On one side I am 21 and just got past that age where I didn't understand the rules my parents gave me. On the other hand now that I am older and wiser I kind of understand the parents side. It is not so much the fact that she stayed out too late. It is probably the fact that when a parent gives a kid a cerfew and they don't follow it, it is very disrespectful, it is like the kid basically saying "I know you said I have to be home by this time, but I really don't care what you say, so I will be home when I want to be home." BTW: The people saying the **** about high schol drop outs are not personal digs against you. Most high school dro outs I ever met dropped out because they got into the wrong crowd, drugs, drinking, etc.

We're not saying you do, or you ever did. That is just the rep that HS drop outs get. So like I said, it is not a personal dig against you, for all we know you could be a bible toting christian who never missed chruch on Sundays and doesn't eat a thing without praying. Who knows. But when it boils down to it, the majority of high school drop outs have reached their max potential in life. They won't go to college, they won't learn a trade, they spend the rest of their lives humping minimum wage jobs. And like I said earlier, most of them dropped out due to drugs and alchohol. I would keep my daughter away from that too. You have obviously decided to not go that route, taking classes to get everything you need in life done, which is great. But the thousands of HS dro outs before you gave you a bad rep. Maybe her parents are just *****. We're just chiming in on what it could be.

If I had a daughter I'd forbid her to date until she's married.

You need to get an education just so we can read your posts. Sometimes it's hard to understand just what you are saying. So she was an hour late. She knew her curfew and yet she still was late. Too bad. Sounds like there are other issues going on. You guys sound like the couple that will run off somewhere sooner or later and get married and just have the oh so wonderful life.

I guess the parents are really testing your devotion. I am sure they have their reasons and we are only hearing one half of the story.

Bottom line, you don't have any choice. When she says "I do" and has a ring on her finger, then she will make all the rules instead of them.

Some parents keep up the parenting AFTER the girl gets married. That really sucks!

If you can deal with it, then so be it. Otherwise, find another chick.

I will make one last point if you are involved in an intimate relationship with her, even if they don't know about, can you blame them? Trust me, any daddy can look in his daughter's eyes and they just know.

Man, Just don't get possessive with her like that. You can probably go a whole week without seeing her. You 2 are still young, and believe me if you are hurting cause you didn't see her everyday, you are borderline obssessive/possessive. That aint healthy for any realtionship. Just chill and things will come back around in your favor. And that's probably what her parents are seeing now, They might think your too attached to their little girl.. She's their girl, not your's, Yet.. Just bide your time young man..

Man I get a little happy when the lady goes out with her friends for the night cause I get to sit in front of the t.v. by myself, maybe play a little xbox or watch some movies. Not seeing her for one day is nothing. It's not healthy to be seeing her everyday. You guys need your own lives as well. You're not married and you're not living with each other. Just like rebelyell said, you are becoming borderline obsessive.

Oh and another thing. Make sure you get to know the parents and have a good relationship with them. It will make things much easier. Just talk with them and be nice even if it seems like they don't like you or whatever. Just be respectful and respect their rules.
