New cell phone time
I'm going be upgrading my cell phone soon, possibly tomorrow even. I am liking the blackberry pearl. anyone have one of those? I have been using a motorola v-551, so even the pearl is a massive upgrade in phone tecjnology for me. the more I read about windows mobile, to more I learn it sucks.
4.6Love- you sell cell phones and pda's and such right? What would you recommend? I'll be renewing a contract with at&t so the phones are heavily discounted. |

the Moto Q is pretty sweet. My friend has one of those. Not sure if you have checked those out of if thats even the type of thing you are looking for

Razor FTW!
Thin and Durable. Takes Pics, sends Txt, and makes/rcv calls. It is everything i need in a phone.:t: All that extra poppycock is for the birds. |
Ive had the razor...i didnt like it only because of the ergonomics of it...flat buttons...but yeah it was functional as hell and basic, same software as I have on my current motorola v551
i want a more capable phone, but i dont want a PDA brick. thats why I was thinking blackberry pearl, its got nice features, but not a dizzying array as to be annoying. Its bigger than what i have, but not by much. no windows mobile also, a plus in my book. I was liking the sony 580i, but no camera. |
The new windows-based phones are much better. My wife has on a new Moto phone (and she loves it). Me? I tried one about 2 years ago and it sucked. I went back to a basic phone, though I am due for a new one.
If I were to get a BB, I would go with the Pearl. But, unless you need to be that much in touch with a job having one of these is a real waste of money if you ask me. Just an added expense. I get between 100 - 200 emails a day that are work-related. I may end up just sticking with a phone again because I have an aircard for my laptop. While it is a bit more of a hassle to start up the PC, it is a lot more useful then trying to work off the phone. I think a BB would just drive me nuts. |

damn, i need a better source...or better eyes!!! thanks for the clarification. |
blackberry curve! I have had mine since the day it was released and i love it! mine is with tmobile and it has the UMA piece that connects to my home network so its like VoIP but on your cell phone and all those calls dont count against your minutes. I have it hooked up to my wifi in our office as well. I get well over 700 emails a day for work so a BB is a must for me.

a lot of the new phones look slick as hell, but i have a bad habit of abusing the crap out of phones. lol

I was looking at that one...looks badass, but I think its far too much phone for my needs. the pearl is even has a tad more than i'd need I think. |

I think sometimes people just buy crap because, well, it just has a lot of crap on it. I bet 90% of the people that own these don't use 90% of what it can do.
