Default MGW Short Throw Shifter

Today I recieved my MGW short throw shifter. I was excited so I immediatley started the install. Everything was a breeze, untill i got the dust boot off. after removing it i see 2 1/2 words: Steeda Tri-Ax ....apparently the previous owner had installed it. I didnt care i still wanted my MGW short throw shifter in. UNfortunatley the previous owner silicone sealed the HELL out of it and me and a freind couldnt get it off. So I dont know what to do know, I'm thinking about just returning the MGW Shifter, and saving a couple hundred bucks...Or if one of you wants to buy it, i wont sell it very much cheaper than from the store, cus i could just return it. Or mabey i should take it somwhere to tae the Tri-Ax off? I dunno the Tri-ax is pretty good, and i dont think its worth it to replace it...but what do I know?

Yeah, why did you buy another if you already had one? Could you not tell you had some kind of short throw already? Anyways, if you are gonna sell it, how much would you sell it shipped to 75229? Thanks..

I dont think he knew he had a triax already. LOL, Id still switch out the triax and sell it for like 100 bucks. Just me though. And about the silione, just take a 2x4 under the car and tap on the shifter a little, itll pop right off. Just pull like hell.

Ive heard mixed reviews about the MGW, so in my taste id stay with the steeda tri-ax. You should just return the MGW and take a loss in shipping.

Yeah, I never would have thought i had a tri-ax...cus ive never driven another mustang besides mine b4, so i wouldnt know. I just dont know what to do...I dont think Id sell it unless some one can give me close to the return price plus shipping, i dunno...

If you put on the MGW piece then it will be used and steeda is used. Try to sell it for a little lost or trade for something you need.

Lookin for anything audio wise? I might be willing to trade that steeda tri-ax for like some 6.5 comps, power wire and ground, an 8inch sub, and whatever else audio stuff ive got laying around...

did you try using a razor to cut the seam about half way so that if you pulled on the shifter, it would come right off ...

i say cut through half way so that you dont get any particles in the tranny

i didnt feel like waiting another week :happy11: ..

the reason is i want this as soon as possible, plus i have to spend another $300 to get a boost and fuel pressure gauge and matching a-pillar pod, then i am paying 550 to have the kit installed and tuned over at modular power house..whew
