hasnt been a truly scary movie in a very long time...theres a big diff between gory and scary...gory is "hostel", "saw", all the "halloween" and "nightmare" movies....scary is "the exorcist", "the omen" original "night of the living dead"
4 things on film have truly scared me in my lifetime

1. the drew barrymore opening of "scream"
2.the first scene in the original "dawn of the dead"
3.only the older guys will remember this: the hand with 6 fingers that used to come out of the ground in the saturday "creature feature"
4. the soundtrack to the "omen"

Hey, if you wanna see some great flicks watch the "8 films to die for" horrorfest. They are somewhat hit and miss, i definatly reccommend Dark Ride cause the badguy is one freaky dude. actually, my avatar is the bad guy in dark ride

LMAO.... yah no im not THAT creepy...

here is Jhonna from Dark Ride.

I dont know what fuckrtard decided this should go direct to DVD, this movie could have made a fortune, it has all the fun elements of a twisted horror flick. Hands down better than most of the garbage hollywood pushes out.

yeah seriously. Anymore it just all seems predictable and weak. They just go for the throw something in front of you and make a loud noise affect with everything anymore.

Yah dude seriously.

The problem is that hollywood cant seem to understand the scariest stuff is the unknown.

They just want to make the biggest meanest CG monster and throw it at you.

NOT SCARY.

Im gonna get blasted for this, but i think one of the scariest movies in a long time was "Signs" all the way up untill the end. You know why? Cause you NEVER saw a good glimpse of the aliens, so your imagination is what was left to fill in the gap and nothing is scaried than something your own mind creates.

then they had to go and **** it all up by showing the alien in the end. But UNTILL that point, it was a freaky sucking movie cause your imagination is what filled in the gap.

And for all those people who say "How can an alien be smart enough to travel hundreds of light years but cant open a pantry?" i say, yeah,. well . go to thier planet, **** in thier toilet and good luck figuring out how to clean your *** with the ceramic star shaped thing with the little doohicky on it. I bet they will all laugh at you too. lol

But yah, there aint no damn CG monster that could ever scare me.

My own imagination sure as hell can though.

I will agree with you on that. The movies that don't show you what the "monster" or whatever is, or even the horror flicks that just keep everything hidden and keep you guessing and creating your own monster are the best. I still remember the video in signs when they show the news clip from mexico, it is a great scene, and of course the pantry scene.

signs was a really good movie IMHO. Another good one was War of the Worlds (old and new versions). New one kinda creeped me out as far as new movies go.. And also a sleeper creeper was "American werewolf in London". When it first came out it was almost a nail biter..

One more good recommendation then I'll STFU.. LOL. You have to smoke a fat hooter and watch "Altered States". That dude took tripping on mushroom, or whatever it was, soup to a whole new level.. Old movie and kinda grainy but still makes you say WTF..
