there is another one about a cobra from somewhere in texas. a shop mechanic was test driving the car lost control and totaled it. the shop owner told the cobra owner to use his own insurance to pay for the loss of the car...

lol..
Ill let it stay overnight, and right there on the gauge face plate i will put a piece of masking tape with the mileage and date in my own writing.
they would be less likely to screw with it if they know you are watching.
i expect 2-5 miles after some repair work so they can drive it around and make sure it is sound.
you can always mess with them and slap the rear driverside tail light real hard on yer way out, you can sometime trip the fuel cutoff trigger.
they might not know it is there. lol

pop open your trunk, inside the trunk on the drivers side behind the tail light hidden behind the carpet.
you will see a strange looking dookicy with a red button.
that is the fuel pump cutoff sensor with reset button.
i tripped this thing twice now on accident but bumping it with a screwdriver when replacing tail lights.
One day i was in the garage dicking around, the stang was sitting in the driveway running to get to normal temps before an oil change.
my buddy ben shows up, walks by my mustang and SLAP nails the rear drivers side tail light. the car ran for about 10 more seconds, started sputtering then finally died.
the bastard actually tripped the sensor by slapping the rear tail light. The light bolts on the same part of metal as the sensor.
I tried it twice, diddnt get it either time but stung my hand and finally decided i would rather not damage my tail light.
i think it is supposed to go of when a non chipped key is used, also after an impact it shuts off the fuel pump to kill the engine.

wow thats terrible. the shop that used to do work on my car used to BEAT on my car. One time I was there expecting to pick up my car turned out it wasn't ready, as i was about to leave the shop owner took out another customers car 600+rwhp GT, took it down the street and beat the living crap out of it, got back and the windsheild was shattered. turned out he forgot to put the hood pins on the hood. on that note got my car back one time and they forgot to completely tighten the hinges on my hood, went on the highway and hood started flappin around. havent done business with them since.

I had one minor problem with my shop..
I just had my stereo installed and I took my car over to my shop for my header job and my h pipe ..
Got the car back that day, turned it on, system went "BOOM" real loud. Checked my equalizer and it'd be toyed with..kinda hard to toy with it when its in my console next to the seat.
Went over, talked to the owner, told him what was up, he said he'd deal with it. Right then and there, the guy was fired. Apparently, it wasn't the first time he'd done this.
This shop I go to does quite a bit of work with older cars. Old trucks with built engines, old muscle cars, and they do a few new edge cars.
As for the guy with the Vette, that shop owner stepped into a world of **** with her. Shes obviously got cash, so it won't be difficult to pick up a lawyer and get on the ball with it. As for "my insurance company would give her 40 grand she can buy a new car and i can install the mods that she had on the other car" Thats complete ****. That vette was atleast 10 grand more then that offer, and why would you want this same jackass working on your car?
Sounds like to me he won't be in business much longer. The lawsuit will come, his names been thrown out there to different communities, not only with a story, but with aftermath pictures... hes done. And one guy was right, he was running that place like it was a highschool shop.

Wow, that was a long thread. Those corvette owners are realy serious about their vettes. I would accept a new Z-R1 vette as a replacement, or else I would just sue the shop.. He has the pics he needs. Judge Judy could rule that one. LoL.. The shop owner should have made it right out of court though. Geez it was only a Vette, not like it was a Mustang.
