ex girlfriend left me for another guy, a rich guy into sellin street candy...that was years ago...anyway she left me and moved out west with him...long story short, she calls me earlier sayin shes depressed and hooked on whatever hes been givin her....she tells me she wants to commit suicide....so i told her it sux to be her and reminded her how she walked out on me...then hung up....now the damn conscience is bothering me but really....what was i supposed to do? i have a girl i love now and i figure my only responsibilty is to her...was i supposed to go get her? was i supposed to "save" her? women need to get their priorities straight....i was a good guy to her...she walked out on me! oh well...what should i have done?

 

You cannot be someones fallback person, as much as any guy wants to be, you aren't a hero.

She made a choice to leave, and she made a choice to get hooked on whatever she is on.

My dad has had his struggles with addiction, meth was his drug of choice, and it was until about 4 years ago. I have learned that you cannot help someone that hasn't made the choice to help themselves. And by helping yourself its getting out of that environment ON YOUR OWN. And surrounding yourself with people who want to do the same thing as you, clean up. (Ever hear of NA? This is why it works so well)

You have to live your own life, with the woman that you love. Remember, you didn't tell her to leave, so why should you be the one to rescue her? Your goal in life is to be happy and live it with as little problems as you can, helping someone like this can only bring problems for you.

My bet is is when she left for this POS she was already taking that candy from him, so this isn't a new thing for her. Her "I want to commit suicide" just goes to show that she needs help, and that sort of help is beyond you. I don't think she realises that if she does clean up, those feelings of wanting to die wont' change without this. She needs to be an adult, and stop trying to find a crutch.

honestly, WTF does she expect? she is gonna walk out on you for a druggie? Now she realizes her mistake and blah blah blah? gimme a break. i wouldnt trust her.

its amazing the nerve some women have, they stomp all over some dudes heart and go off doing some dumb ****, then they have the gall to come back sniffing thier noses around.

Some women are worse than dogs, always thinking the grass is greener on the other side, so they hop the fence, then they **** all over that other side and the grass looks like ****, all the sudden thier old yard which aint being **** on anymore looks good to them.

sounds like she needs to learn how to take care of her own **** rather than ******* it all up and hoping to come back later.

yah, guys have this instinct to protect women, it sucks when they play on it. You know damn good and well though that this is not the woman you need to protect, and the one you DO need to protect would only be hurt in this, so tell this chick to **** off.

you cant let her shelf her problems on your mantle dude, she got herself in that position and you have absolutly zero obligation to help her out, instead you have an obligation to take care of your current girl.

if she calls you back with the same suicide **** just tell her "put your head in a bucket first..think about the guy that has to clean all that **** up afterwards"...She should get the message loud and clear after that. her life choices are not your problem...**** on her!
