01 trans am ws6
hey guys its been awhile. ive been pretty busy lately. i was just curious how much a 01 black trans am ws6 with 40k miles salvage title is worth. It has been repaired and looks mint. there was little frame damage but it was repaired. if u guys could get back asap id appreciate it

I wouldnt pay more than 10 grand for it, personally.
I paid 10800 for my 2000 Trans Am, non WS6 with a clean title and 77000 miles. word of advice, make absolutely certain that you can deal with the little issues that come with owning an Fbody. You wont believe it until you buy one and experience it yourself, no matter how many owners try to warn you, but you will deal with them. Headlights, turn signals, window motors, clogged cats, headlight motors, eating oil like a mofo, etc. Id go back to my slow 99 mustang in a heartbeat, is basically what Im trying to say. |
i wasnt lookn to buy for myself. I have a dealers license and was going to fix a salvage to sell it.

I see. Well, a local dealer has a 2001 here with about 25k miles on it, listed at 18k, and its been on their lot for almost 6 months now. Title shows frame damage.

my friend got a mint 01 SLP SS w/ 50K private sale for a little over 16,000... should be alittle closer to 18 though, but he got a good deal.

the f-body and the corvette are historically some of the least reliable cars on the road. They spent so much time trying to shoe horn that old ass 350 into the platforms that they completely forgot about making them not suck.
I've had both... an 84 firebird that I could never keep running and a couple mustangs that I couldn't fuggin kill. I'd take the stang for any car I'd actually have to drive. The firebird was fun on the rare occasion that it would stay running long enough to enjoy. Salvage title cuts the value by at least 50% if not a little more. |
I cant agree more R3d. I thought I was going to move from the Fbody to a used Z06, but to be quite honest, I dont know if I ever want another LS-powered car without a brand spanking new 100k mile warranty from GM. My Mustang was WAY slower, but WAY more fun to drive, sounded 10x better, and was just all around a better daily driven car. Ill have another some day :)
