Default Pleasant Surprise

As some of you are aware I installed my Pro-Kit today...When I jacked up the car I found that the previous owner had installed a catted X-pipe...now all I need is the SLP catback and I'll be set. :hello2:

I've never had a V8 before...most of the people in my family like my couisins are into imports...The only mustangs I've ever been in were friends of mine one was a 97 GT with a full Flowmaster kit, one was a 99 with Flowmasters and the other I think was a supercharged 5.0...I think maybe around 89...that car is the reason I bought a Mustang...before this I had an RX-7. Anyways I always thought mine was pretty loud for stock...I had planned on the Loudmouth with a catted X-Pipe now I can save like 350.00 bucks.

I wish I was that lucky!! I keep dreaming that one morning I will go to get in the car and someone will have supercharged it for me during the night. But I am not holding my breath :laughing9

that's what i was thinking. too bad you can't tell if there are gears in the car.

cool. now all you need is a catback. as for sound, i didn't notice that big of a difference when i installed my catted x. there was a small change that i could hear, but everyone else couldn't.

you should def check for gears... see how many times you tire spins per axle rotation... or is it the other way around... no i think im right...anyways... there is a way to check for gears, if anything check for a speedcal under your radio unit... thats where mine was installed.. u have to take the plastic covering off right behind the shifter

I don't have gears
I've taken off that piece of plastic and saw nothing. Also I've been listening to everyone talk about the change in RPM's...going 70 I'm at 2,000k on the dot...plus I hear everyone talking about a huge difference in acceleration and I don't think I have it. Don't get me wrong I love my car but It doesn't pull like you guys describe with gears...Soon though...just need to make a few payments on my credit card :crybaby2:

Sweet!

I friend of mine bought a 2000 GT, what to talk about surprise. She got home, we jacked it up, o/r x pipe, tri ax shifter, chip from superchips, 3.73 gears. When she bought we already knew it a intake, pulleys and a catback system. First week she owned it we took it into a tree going 40, she wasn't used to the power. Went from a Saturn to a GT.

Its always awsome to find out the previous owned itstalled some killer stuff.

I'd be a tad leary and more inclinded to think they dogged it all the time with a bunch of mods like that, but i guess you never really know do you?

Yeah...I figure almost anyone who buys a GT will be driving a little harder than someone who buys like a V6...sometimes it's the other way around...I'm just glad I got trhe extended warranty...my car drives better than any car I've ever had...everything feels new so it's cool for now...whoever had it before me definetly took good care of it.

How long have you had your car. Shoot even before i bought my car I looked it over and saw that it had, K&N filter, Basani h-pipe, flowsand steeda triax short throw. Too bad I changed all out for o/rx-pipe and better flows, however i did keep the triax short shift

I've had it now for a few months but I never thought to check the exhaust cause it's not that loud so I didn't suspect there would be anything there.
