Saleen or Faleen?
http://denver.craigslist.org/car/263811237.html
i thought 18k for an 02 seemed a bit cheap.
yah so i thought i remember hearing something about how Saleen never made any #6XX's saleens... as in the number by the headlight...
also... brakes look like stock GT brakes. did saleens come with beefier brakes?
just curious.

I think it's a real Saleen.
I've never heard of the #6XX not coming out.
The brakes weren't upgraded on the S281 as MattJ said. They were an option however.
The rims I think are the origional because they have the Saleen center cap which are VERY hard to come by. Also, they are almost impossible to find to fit replica wheels since the replica's have different center cap sizes.
The tires are also the factory Saleen tire. Pirelli's.
I've actually seen quite a few 99-03 Saleen's being sold for $20K with less than 40,000 miles on it. There is the engine plate, door jam sticker, and I believe a serial number embedded on the K-Member as well. This one is probably a little less because of the scuff mark on the rear.
I'm pretty sure you would have to call up Saleen to find out, for if you called a local dealer or car fax or whatnot, it just comes up as a GT, since that's basically what it is.
I'd put $50 that it is a real one.
