OMG it was such a good friday night! It was cold but it was ok to deal with. Well I went out and met up with a few friends and got dinner, well we decided to cruise around for a little bit before heading home. We cruise the local strip and me being the **s I am I cracked on the mustang one good time and that was it. Well that one time echoed enough for a state boy to hear me!! Not good since he was in an unmarked new Impala! Well the 3 of us jump on the interstate and the 1st guy rolls out...Turbo Scion TC...The other car and mayself got caught up by traffic. I see an opening in the far left lane and jump over and lay on it in 3rd gear...get up to about 85ish and let off...out of nowhere this car comes up and nearly runs into the back of me....then blue lights come on and i pulled over. Well he claimed he "Paced me" and wrote me a ticket for 100 in a 65, possesion of illegal radar detector, and excessive noice...so it was a great freakin nite!!!

I almost got into 3 wrecks today...

On the highway, some jackass like 6 cars ahead of me slams on their breaks, causing everyone else to slam on theirs...

Then I'm letting my g/f drive my car to the cagefights..and some f150 almost smacks us...

And then coming back from the fights I'm going..and passing past this Caddilac STS or w/e and he decides to try to change lanes w/o a blinker and i have to hit my breaks really quick...

Other then that I watched 6 guys get knocked out. =)

 

Lance is right. The "pacing" stuff is a bunch of BS. ALWAYS ask to see radar and keep a camera (digital or disposable) in your car for such situations. i've seen far too many shitty situations like this between me, my friends, and people on forums with crappy local and interstate police officers. theyre always out to get the people with louder cars. As for the radar, you're probably out of luck with that, arent all radar detectors illegal in VA?

 

Yep, another sucky part of being a Virginia resident. Oh and cops are always after muscle cars, they don't even bother ricers and stuff in my area. They've pulled me over for the stupidest things before.

 

Pacing is a state and federaly recognized form of evidence. Sorry it'll work in court every single time. Officers are trained to pace in the event that the use of a radar or laser is not a viable source of attaining speed of a suspect.


You're screwed congrats. If you choose to go to court just ask for a break sometimes if you seem like a good decent individual they'll lower the fine a bit etc. What does your record look like?

I would get a Lawyer and see what he could do.Might be able to get some of it dropped or reduced.

 

Well i'm going to get a lawyer and fight it for sure! I called my ex g/f today since she works for the police and she said he has to follow me for at least 1 mile to be considered "pacing" and he was behind me for a not even a 1/8 mile!!! When he actually came flying up and got behind me i wasnt even close to 100 and he immidiatly pulled me. But like my ex said, he was pobably doing 100mph to catch up to me so he claimed i was doing that speed since he never had it on radar, and yes i asked if i could see the radar too. As for the radar detector, yea it is illegal to be using, but mine wasnt even on. The power cord was behind the seat chillin, he said the radar detector itself couldnt be within my reach. I'm hoping it will get reduced or dropped since i'm gettin the best lawyer in the area who's the former DA, and get his way in the local court's.

BTW, the exhaust ticket it being dropped....he never metered it due to the fact i talked to another officer today.

 

dude the same exact thing happend to me i was on a highway by my house speed limit is 50 i was doing in between 55-60 and all of the sudden this car comes up out of nowhere ( it was night time by the way) and gets right on my *** so i just went into the right lane to let him pass and he pulls me over as im switching lanes. he wasnt behind me for more than ide say 2 seconds litterally
i got a ticket for 76 in a 50 he said he paced me and im a kid so i wasnt gonna make a big thing about it cause next thing you know hell sprinkle some crack rocks on me and take me to jail if i talk back to him.
but i didnt get a lawyer i just plead not guilty and talked to a prosecuter we talked for 2 minutes and he was like alright your a nice kid ill bring it down to a careless driving ticket 300 bucks and no points

 

how about the line. "i clocked you at 110 but you slowed down to fast and i locked you at 85 in a 65" my question back why are you giving me a ticket for 110?. or the other infamous line. "i didnt clock you my buddy did" my reply why didnt he pull me over. that ticket i was doing 66 in a 55 and i passed on the right, oops.

both cases were dropped cops didnt appear in court. judges dont care if they worked triple shifts.

my last ticket was supposed to be speed exhibition, converter unlocked as i gave it some more gas as i was turning and next thing car was sideways with a bunch of smoke. avoiding a speeding truck, i have bad depth perception, cop was behind the truck. he wrote me a ticket for failure to remain stopped 40 dollar ticket.
