As you can see pretty much all of the United States is covered which means Helio is using a CDMA signal and roaming off of other CDMA tours like Alltel, Verizon, Sprint, and most of your local companies, for example Metro PCS for you and Ntelos for in my area. Most of the new companies coming out now are becoming another one of the service providers to offer nationwide coverage with no roaming. All of these phone service providers pretty much have a contract with all the big names in cell phones allowing them to use their towers to better coverage.
Now if you ever don't get signal somewhere and you see a Cingular, T-Mobile, or Nextel phone does then don't get worried because they run on their own signals.
Cingular & T-Mobile - GSM Signal
Nextel - IDEN Signal
Go into your nearest Helio provider and ask them if their service is CDMA and I bet they will say yes. Also ask them if their phones are dualband, triband, or quadband. This means that the phone have that many different signals on it so if you have a dualband phone then you can use CDMA and GSM towers. Most phones have not quite made it into the dualband and up range yet but in a couple years it will all be like that.
It appears that Helio is using some setup where they are using more than one band because you can see that you can't have all your features in most areas.
Oh yeah, the light blue is everywhere you can talk. The dark blue is everywhere where you can surf the web, message, talk, and the rest of their features like myspace and stuff. The 3G areas are just their specific areas where you get EVERYTHING and the white is where their is no service at all.
HOLY ****, I didn't even mean to get into all of that. Hope it helped anyways...

myspace phone = gay.
IDEN network ftw.
btw i think nextel is getting rid of the iden network, or sprint is gettign rid of their satalites. cus i know on october first they will "officially" merge. that way you can have the awesome sprint phones, but the nextel service/walkie talkie.

Like I said, don't my word for it. It could be the exact opposite way around but I do know that the Law is getting it's own signal and frequency.
