my dilemma...
Alright, so i own a 2004 screaming yellow v6 and i love the car and the color to death but i'm not completely satisfied...i know that its a v6 and for that fact alone i'm kinda disappointed in my purchase...i don't really want a GT just for the simple fact that i think i wouldn't be satisfied with that car either... after seeing Lance's cobra i now have "cobra fever"...problem is, i'm currently a senior in college and i still have 3 years of grad school after this year so i'm going 2 be up 2 my neck in student loans by the time i'm done but i want a damn cobra and i want it now :wallbash:...what is a student to do... mod my v6 that i know i will not be happy enough with in the end because of the lack of speed or should i go all out and sell the sixer and buy a friggin yellow cobra...any comments plz?

Sell the V6 and get something you don't need to mod or anything because getting a Cobra now would be a terrible decision. Once you get out of college and get settled in on everything, go after that Cobra.
Don't get me wrong, you will love the Cobra but life sucks when you live paycheck to paycheck man.

zig, i don't really want to invest that much time and money into the 6 b/c i know it won't be want i want it to be...
shadows, trust me that makes total sense and that's what i keep telling myself but by the time i get outta school itll be 2010 and and the mustang body style i like not (99-04) will be just that much older and the cobras will be just that much more abused...

get the cobra, student loans suck but consolidate them all when school is over and you will get a good rate and long payment period, and it wont be too bad of a monthly payment. if you can afford a Cobra now do it, just dont put yourslef in the situation of living paycheck to paycheck
My advice is get what you want while you still can

this is how i live life......
i get/do what i want when i want. If i die tomarrow i want to be happy. That's why i don't diet....i'm not fat or anything but i would hate to be hungry all day cause all i ate was rabbit food and then die the next day. If i die i want to be happy, full of food and not be a mopey person. I say get it. Even though you have school and everything if you can afford it why the hell not? Live life to the fullest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to agree with the beaner on this one, dont buy the cobra yet.
Think about it, a 25000 dollar car, payments would probably be around 500 a month, insurance would prolly be 200+ a month, then gas, figure at LEAST 100 bucks a month, for what? So you can have a car? Get through college, by then, there will be bigger, better, and faster cars. I know how it is to have to wait, IMO, our generation got screwed outta the good cars, because by the time we can afford the ones we want, they are moved on to different cars, that arent as good looking (Viper, Cobra, etc) Try and come out of college debt free, as it will make starting your life in the real world that much easier, and then when you have a house, stable job, etc, then look into your playtoy. Sell the V6, and buy something cheap to own, maintain, etc. Youll be amazed at how much money youll save over a year, by having a car you dont want to modify, or have to put money into a lot.

The insurance in a lot of peoples cases is not too terribly bad. It will definately be more than your v6, but my friend whos 22 pays like 10 bucks a month more than me for insurance on his cobra. I'm in the same situation as you, I could almost sell my GT, pay it off, have some money left over to put towards the cobra loan, and only have a slightly higher monthly payment. But I'm trying to wait as long as possible because the price of cobras are just going to keep dropping and dropping. And I bet you even in 2010 you will still find unmolested cobras, just think of all the old dudes out there like Lance who own them

Keep the v6 imo, it isnt hard to get a v6 to be faster then a stock, or bold on cobra. And there are pleanty of people out there now with 400+whp v6's. and within the next 6 months we should have 2 750whp+ v6's
i garontee you can get 350whp on your v6 for a lot cheaper then buying a cobra
