Default 99-04 Factory Gauge Cluster question

Can I put in any 99-04 mustang GT factory gauge cluster in my 01 GT???

I have the Autometer cluster, but I'm gonna sell that when I sell my car. So can I put in like an 03 factory gauge cluster?

Also does it have to be a GT,or can it be a V6? or even a Cobra?

V6's stop at 120 and only go up to 7k on the tach.

Yes you can swap that out and put a GT, mach 1, or bullitt gauge cluster in. Im not sure about the cobra or saleen without calibration.

So any 99-04 GT cluster won't be a problem?

Also, once I swap out, it'll read my odometer with the correct mileage right?

Yes, I believe the odometer will be correct, as you are replacing the cluster, and the computer stays there as well as the rear wiring, which apparently keeps your mileage... like we could switch right now and our odometers would match our respective cars...
Ive also heard that if the reading from the back of the cluster and the computer don't match... the car wont start X_X... like you could disengage the cluster so you don't rack up miles...
