best way to check for exhaust leaks..

whats the best way to check for exhaust leaks? any particular method work the best?

use a piece of rubber hose and with your car up in the air while its running use the hose to listen for leaks at the joints of your exhaust. sometimes you can use a flashlight and see a bit of exhaust coming out.

I always just wrap both my hands around the joint and if there is a leak you would feel it...Have to do it fast though before the exhaust gets too hot

i do what fastbk does but i dont wrap my hands around it..i basically leave atleast a half inch between my hand and metal

i got a really bad leak where my header meets my midpipe
