WHAT TO DO IF YOU GET A TRAFFIC TICKET

Remember, this advice was sent to me by my dad the retired State Farm Agent!

This system has been tried and it works in every state. If you get a speeding ticket or went through a red light or whatever the case may be, and you're going to get points on your license, this is a method to ensure that you DO NOT get the points.

When you get your fine, send in a check to pay for it. If the fine is $79.00 make the check out for $82.00 or some small amount over the fine. The system will then have to send you back a check for the difference, however here is the trick. DO NOT CASH THE REFUND

CHECK! Throw it away!

Points are not assessed to your license until all financial transactions

are complete. If you do not cash the check, then the transactions are NOT complete. The system has received it's money and is satisfied and will no longer bother you. This information comes from an

unmentionable! Computer company that sets up the standard databases used by every state.

I don't know why they wouldnt just pay the ticket with your check and then send back the remaining balance?

how the hell do you know how many points are on your license? is it stated in your insurance invoice or something? do all states have points? and if they did, i got a ticket up in NY, would it count for CT, if CT has points?

i got a WRITEN warning during the winter for going though a yellow light... YELLOW... no **** i went throught it officer it wasnt red... it wasnt even avoidable, i knew he was there, i saw him 30 seconds prior when i went passed him the OTHER way... if i had stopped it would have been halfway out in the intersection... lol

If it's your first ticket why not just pay it and go to traffic school! A little more money, but no points

NO truth to it, I'm a cop in FL, I've heard it before, NO TRUTH...At least not in FL, GA, LA, MD and VA. I can't say for sure anywhere else. Go to traffic school if able and no points.

I can see where perhaps that has worked on a few ocassions, but this could actually back-fire on you. What if the city sends the check back since it is written for the wrong amount and then you are late paying the fine?
