So this guy that I know that's been a friend of mine for about a year drives a foxbody.. it's a 90's model, not sure what exact year. Anyways I've told him for the LONGEST time we should race just to see what would happen.. and he had an excuse for awhile, just some BS. He has a cam in his car and some intake mods and gears and stuff like that. Anyways he started saying he wouldn't race me because his cam wasn't right. So finally after months, one night he comes up to me and he's like "man I don't think I can race you now, I wouldn't want to embarrass you" so I was like "well lets go see" but he wanted to wait til we could go to the 1/8th mile track.. that's ALL we have around here and we're still driving at least an hour. So I tell him great, that's fine. And then when I start hounding him about going he says "something is wrong with his rearend" so im like wtf ok.. he says hes gonna do the 5 lug conversion and all that so i tell him fine, you get your rearend fixed and ill get my cams in and then we'll run. so he says ok to that. we'll both of our cars are up and running now. he told some mutual friends that he was gonna go to the drag strip that im going to this coming friday and wants to run me BADDDD. they said he's secretly put a 150 shot of nitrous on his car and he doesn't plan to tell me about it. lol wtf is that about. i dunno, why bother hiding what you have. they told me not to tell him i knew about it.. so when we get to the track im gonna ask him to pop his hood and look for the hookups. I doubt he hid them but we'll see. I don't care to get beat by a foxbody running nitrous.. but I just think it's stupid that he's trying to race me under the false intentions of what he has done to his car. i know what he's done to it up till before the notrious and he knows about all my mods.. it was just suppose to be a friendly race to see how close are cars are. i dunno, im mostly pissed because i won't get the fair race i was promised. people suck! i dunno.. maybe i should feel good that he figured he needs a 150 shot of nitrous to beat me? lol

 

I wouldn't worry about it. He's probably one of those who doesn't wanna get beat....and especially by a girl. That's ok though, I'll race ya if I get to go. I got no prob losing to anyone.

 

haha i thought about it.. ive actually been thinking about it a lot lately anyways.. just because of my cams loving it. but naw, i guess he really doesn't want to lose that bad. its weird because i race my friends all the time and none of them are ******** about losing to me.. lol.

Yeah billy called me tonight and said he's going and another friend of ours. I'm gonna try and switch with another assistant. What time you all leaving? I won't get off til 5pm if I get to switch.

 

hmm.. I don't really see us leaving any earlier than 5pm.. I'll figure out a time and let you know for sure.. we'll probably meet at the mall before we leave anyways, so you should be right by us.

 

I'll have to go home and change.....don't think I wanna race with the shirt and tie lol. I live in Lone Oak so it wouldn't take long.

Did you ask your dad if he'll install the gears and maybe the subframes? I promised the g/f that I wouldn't spend too much all at once. Since we live together, I watch how much I spend now. Also, I gotta get the brakes and rotors replaced on monte carlo so if anything I'd rather get the gears and subframes on first. But if you can't get them sold and still have them later I'll definitely buy them from ya.

 

yeah he said he would do them both, im forcing him to weld subframes on my car too, lol

my buddy does the same thing to me all the time. he has an 06 mustang gt and we normally work on our cars together until lately, he's gotten very very competitive and he hides stuff until we race. he started getting mad because i was beating him all the time... last time we went to the track he's running slicks!!! i was like wtf is this?

 

That guy is just being gay csledd, but take it as a compliment that you have him scared. When you get to the track, tell him something is wrong with your rearend lol

 

I say do the smart thing and put a 125 shot on your car. Then when he starts getting ahead...SPRAY THE HELL OUT OF HIM. He'll think his car is broken.

I wished somebody lived near me. The guys around here that do race, take it waaay tooo serious for me. I mean, if you beat one these guys, you better have your nine on the side. They are very sore losers. All they have is their pride, no life at all.

put money on the race, make him sweat. just dont show up with your pants down.

show up with slicks, race gas, nitrous, and a new set of rear gears. hire a local driver who can take advantage of your car and stand on the line and wave at him right before the green light, make him wonder whos driving and get his attention before the lights drop.

btw I've beaten one of my friend's LS1 Camaro SS a few months ago. Then he kept bugging me for a rematch this summer. It turns out he tried to keep his new STS turbo kit (yet to be installed) a secret, but he couldnt hide it anymore.

 

i know, i have a hard time keeping peoples eyes off my package.

 

so anyways.. we all met up at the mall before we headed to the track and he walked right up to me and told me he had nitrous.. i figured he wouldn't be able to wait, that's just how he is. anyways.. for the drag racing news. I did beat him, which was surprising. but he really should've beat me because he went and ran a 8.2 and then came up to me and said he wanted to race, so i was like sure.. whatever. we raced and i got an 8.8 and he got a 9.1.. but he had a perfect tree. when we parked he said he ran out of nitrous and that he won because of the perfect tree, blah blah blah. i was like alright.. that's cool, i dont care anyways. and all of our buddies were like.. "i dont care about the reaction time, i think 8.8 > 9.1 lol" so after awhile he was like "i cant believe i ran out of nitrous when i raced you" and then he went and checked and there was some nitrous in the bottle still, but he said the pressure was low. and that he hated running nitrous cuz it was so inconsistant. i didnt care either way. but im definately spinning all through first gear, so i gotta get some uppers and lowers.
