Dude, the oilers came out smacking the sh*t out of us. I was like "NOOOO, not at home!" and then the Canes just came out fighting. They've always been a late game winning team though. Yeah, Ward just amazed me dude. Brind'Amour is the man BTW!

Game 2 is Wednesday in Raleigh. It's gonna be another great game hopefully. I'm excited. Damn man, they just announced that Roloson is out for the series dude.... Damn.

 

ya i know it sucks huge for the oilers, conklin finished the season with a win streak but he aint the greatest the teams gonna have to come up huge to make up for roloson. Im not cheering for the canes but i have lost some hope :foot:

Cuz I'm getting out of the Navy and moving back to NC which is home. Raleigh specifically because of the job market for my wife and I plus I'm going to get my BS from NCSU.

Yeah I know all about the car shows. I've alread joined the local chapter of MCA in Raleigh. I spent 3 semesters at NCSU in the mid 90's ( shut up, I already know I'm old ) plus I got lots and lots of friends in the area. Life is gonna be grand in 4 months.

5-0...damn carolina stomped Edmenton tonight . I love that the canes are in the finals but damn does it bring out the bandwagoners. I have been a canes fan since i started playing hockey 4 years ago and nobody talks about them till they start doin good in the playoffs. O well this happens with every sport, its not a bad thing though, all fans got to start somewhere....tonight sucked though, i only got to watch the 3rd period cause i had a game of my own. O well, GO CANES

 

OMG you hit the nail on the head. I live hear in Raleigh and get to see all the bandwagoners first hand. I am getting sick of all these damn Canes flags on cars, which you didn't see for the entire season until the last couple of weeks.

I guess I am bitter about bandwagoners since I am a Duke fan and of course everyone jumps on the bandwagon of UNC every year, especially on the rare occasions that Duke actually loses. Everyone thinks that UNC is go great and talks smack about Duke, but god forbid UNC lose, you don't hear a peep and they get all bitter if a comment is made about it (/end rant).

I have nothing against hockey, but I just can't get into it. I have never liked it. And I for damn sure am not going to pretend just because the team from my town is playing in the Stanley Cup. I don't buy into pulling for the hometown team just because they are the hometown team. I'll pull for whoever I want. Just like I don't pull for the Panthers.

What pisses me off so much is that if the Canes suck next year, you won't hear a thing about them, just as it was the others years since they moved to Raleigh (I guess last year was the beginning since they did decent in the playoffs).

 

Very true man. I live by the RBC center and just like you, I see 50 million cane flags on cars now. It's aggravating but it's all good. I've liked the Canes since about 3 years ago when I started watching hockey, it's great they're in the Stanley Cup finals. You're right, noone does talk about them until they do good, but that's with everything lol.... I've been begging my cousin for years to get his Hurricanes jersey, it's signed by the entire team. He doesn't even like hockey but now I KNOW he won't give me it. lol.... BTW Duke rules!!

 

BTW, Roloson being knocked out of the series is our saving grace. Hopefully the Canes capatilize on it.

 

I want to put some flags on my car and on the back window write "IM NOT A BANDWAGONER LIKE THE REST OF YOU"haha, that way i can drive with it on without feeling like an idiot. I have been a canes fan since the day i started to play hockey about 5 years ago, and i have watched 95% of there games since then but bandwagonners just **** me off, haha. O by the way, Saturday night they are haveing free viewing inside the RBC, 96.1 "THE CUP" is sponsering it and they said they are gonna try to make it like there is a game actually going on. All the cheerleaders will be there, stormy, ron the ref. ect. Should be a good time, me and all of my friends are headin out there.

Dude, you should see the RBC center now!! I left yesterday to go to drop my son off at my parents house. It's CRAZY how many people are pimping the flags and jerseys lol...
