Your parents are making you sell your car over an exhaust ticket? Seems like a new catback is in order...

I've never had a problem with my full SLP and cops. I've had it for about 10 months and is my DD.

The SLP isn't that loud since I know you have cats and LM2 resonators.

good bye cams and everything else u were talking about getting

Take over the insurance? Sure it might cost you and less mods (If any) but at least you can keep the stang

Ditto! Or just fix the exhaust instead of getting some other mods for now!

How much is the ticket? Is it a ticket ticket or an inspection ticket? Do you have to go to court for it?

i dont really understand how he can even give you a ticket---i would understand if you had an o/r midpipe but with cats i dont even see how he can give you a ticket...your whole exhaust is street legal ???

Exhaust tickets shouldnt make your inssurance go up, never did when I used to get them all the time in my old civic. I had Geico to. My exhaust now is LOUD....louder then SLP and I havent gotten anything but a compliment from a cop...then again my g/f does work for the police too.

lol i like it down here in kansas...no emmisions check (doesnt involve me but my friends GT i work on) and cops dont care if its too loud...even though he just puts it down to lower rpm's when cops are near

well he can't do that, plain and simple.

He doesn't make the laws/rules, he just enforces them. If they're is no law/rule about the exhaust, than he obviously can't enforce it.

Check the local law and then go to court and prove your point.

I've never heard of a law that let's the officer be able to mkae a law up on the spot. Talk about being able to discriminate whenever he/she feels like it. Something ain't right IMO

i'de just pay the ticket...it's non-moving violation. Some cops are just dicks, but just imagine how the ricer kids feel lol...it's a weekly thing for them they usually know the offier by 1st name.

Like was already stated, the ticket should have zero effect on your insurance prem, only MOVING violations will cause this ( there may be exceptions with some companies). Also, if you have factory H-pipe ( I'm guessing bc it was said you have cats) it's not THAT loud, go to court if you are able in Mass to set a date for this citation. Tell the judge the ex is street legal and bring an add from SLP or any company selling it. I also have LT, o/r x-pipe and LM1 so I know just how loud it is. I would never bust someone's a$$ over that, unless they were doing something else...What a jerk! Sorry for you. Take it to court, don't settle it. And don't sell your car over that, if you want to sell it...than do, but not over this.

If you can afford SLP LT's it will greatly help deepen the tone of the exhaust and will not make it sound so loud inside the car, I promise, lol.
