deffinately a buddy of mine just took a bike class and bike lessons and the instructors said if your a beginner you should start with a 600 no less no higher..if you get below a 600 ull be begging for more power...

well the 2000 2002 are just fine i think for a first timmer bike maybe even better for you would be an older one like the model before that ....only because latley with ama turning and focusing more on the 600s as the main attractions now they have really become lil monsters i mean the ****ing r6 is crazy making 112hp to the wheel in a .6 littre engine!!!!! but u really gotta be a good rider to ride the new 600s so id think the best bet for you would be an older 600 which would be more comfortable less demanding on the rider and cheaper!!! so those are my thoughts on the bike subject

i think 99 is the last modle year for the srad gsxr but if you do get somthin in that modle i would go ahead and get a 750 lil bit faster than the 600 so that way when u feel good about driving you wont feel the urge to switch the bike for a faster one..
