Default Who wouldve thought a stock car could be so much fun?

Holy crap, now, its not stock just yet, but I took my shifter off today, and the plenum/tb will be off tomorrow night. I just have to say, its nice to have a good running daily driver again. The only thing Im going to need is a pair of flowmasters to get the sound Im going to lose from the prochamber back. Its funny, my dad tried to tell me all along that the stock shifter was fine, and that when you get carried away with modifying the car, it loses it fun/drivability and I always told him "nah, you are used to carbs and crap like that..." How I was wrong. The tune needed some tweaking to keep it from stalling, that never got around to, and the shifter was going to come out anyway, Im just tired of it running like crap, and I just want to pay it off and enjoy it again. I finally am starting to. So for those of you that think you like your aftermarket shifters, eh, I cant say Id put on in unless the MGW is just as smooth and quiet as the stock one, cause it sure is nice not to hear that damn tranny whine anymore...

Eh, its perfect for me now. It has the gears that it shouldve come with from the factory, its still loud enough to make me smile when I get on it, and it drives amazingly. Oh yea, and I still have a kickass-esq suspension on it, so its not all buttery feeling.

Nah, cause then I still just have a GT with 100k miles on it, and then 10k worth of parts. Resell would still be crap. Plus, Im not buying a cobra for the engine and transmission, its the whole package.

Just remember, a couple years from now the the 03/04 Cobras will be a couple years older and beaten on even more. I'm sure if you look hard enough you can find a rare stock or near stock one wth few miles though.

what school you going to over there? My girlfriend used to go to school right next to Providence. There were some fairly nice cars. Nicer than near me.

+1

I've put too much $$ into my car to sell it. The loss would be too great if i did.. Besides, over the past year I had a newfound love for my car. The semi-sleeper effect is actually kinda fun.

However, that doesn't mean I won't buy a Cobra, GT500, or whatever high performance car I choose in the future. But the KB'ed GT stays.
