I am not a pro bowler by any means....but 200 has been eluding me for a very long time.
Today I would not be denied!

NICE! lol ur a TURKEY! I've gotten turkey once, and i think i still bowled a 150 somethin lol... CONGRADS my highest is 159 ... DOH! not much of a bowler though...

 

Congrats on the 200. my highest ever is 215, only did it once tho. As the beer count goes up the scores go down. I used to bowl with a buddy of mine but he'd get smashed and end up rolling the ball down other people's lanes.

 

It's funny, once I consume (1) Samuel Adams, I bowl better. Go figure.

My best previously was around 150 something, then I bought a new ball and started practicing more. I got up to a 174 high, then a 178. Two weeks ago I started bowling without my wrist support, I gained more control over my hook and bowled 165,191,194 then a 143,193,199. I had a crappy day bowling on Sunday and couldn't get over a 160. Today, for shidz and giggles, I stopped off at the lanes near my house. 3 games and $7.50 later, I had my 200.

 

congrats mike; nice game. I am assuming you throw a hook? You using a finger tip ball? I used to be a big time bowler back in my younger days carried over a 140 avg when I 12 (that year I won high average for PAL, just checked my trophies ) then won my leagues title in 1983. I would love to start bowling again but not enough time now that I have a family, car hobby and tennis along with work.

 

At first when you said 200, i thought you meant post count. But then I remembered you've been on the boards for a few weeks, so 200 seems a little low for you..

Thank you sir, yes, I have a pretty good hook. It was developed using an old polyurethane ball drilled conventional straight up. Then, about 3 months ago, I bought my first reactive ball, drilled fingertip. It is an Ebonite BigTime. I can stand all the way on the left of the lane, throw it all the way to the right, ride the gutter and at the last second, hang a hard left and smack the pocket. I am gonna get some video footage this Sunday during practice. Been meaning to do it, just never got around to it.
We had a Dyno Day bowling meet too! You should have went. It was me, ChrisGT, John Walters and his wife, Gary (02LaserRedGT) and Kevinz00GT. We had fun and as Gary said above, he bowled a 40 something.

 

Cool Mike. I remember you all making plans for going bowling but I had other plans and could not make it. Next time maybe. I dont throw a hook just a straight ball which is weird since I bowled for so many years early on in my life. I have not seen ChrisGT post at MPH in a long long time; is everything ok with him?

2nd, Chris is doing fine, recently moved and is working alot so he hasn't been online much. Heck, he hasn't even called me in over 2 weeks. He used to call me daily. BTW, I was just reading about Andy's latest adventure. THAT IS FUNNY CHIT!!

Just disguise yourself with a fake mustache and wig. Come up with an alias, something original like Heath Kirkendohl. Hell, rent a different colored Mustang so no one will recognize you.

i dont go regularly but occasionally

 

My highest was 110, but I still roll the ball 25mph.

 

I used to do that with a 10 pound ball when I was in school...it was awesome to see the employees faces when all hell broke loose when it hit the pins.

Congrats Mike. I worked at a bowling center all through High School. Used to carry a 205 average. Highest game ever was a 289. First 10 were strikes, then a 9 and a spare. I was almost sick when I missed that.

 

HAHA, that would suck. I would not die a happy man until I got that 300. My goals are not that high. Heck, I thought I lost my 200 game yesterday when a 7-10 split came up in the 10th frame of game #3. I picked up the 7 pin and finished with that 200.

 

Yep, its very dis-heartening when something like that happens. Haven't been able to get that close sense
