had to put dog and cat to sleep
my cat fluffy was 20 years old and ive had him since I was 3. He was a stray as a kitten and we took him in. We had to put him down last week. He made it to 20 and couldnt jump or anything. it was just his time...
also had to put my dog bo diddley down. he became sick 2 days ago so we took him to the vet. we found out he had a disease where his body was attacking his red blood cells. Basically he had to be put down. He was a rescue dog we got. His previous owners never took care of him, and left him outside all the time on a rope. he was a little mean at first but lighened up when he knew people cared for him. we had him for about a year, and he was about 4 years old...

Sorry to hear about that. I hate to sound like a wuss, but that's one of the reasons I haven't had a pet in a few years. You get REALLY attached to 'em and then something like that happens and it's not LIKE losing a family member, it IS losing a family member. You need to get "Chewy" a new playmate quick.

Matt:
I am sorry to hear about that. I just put my Lab down a few weeks ago...they are part of the family.
My best to you guys. I too have a cat that is about 16 years old and we just adopted an awesome 2 year old Goldendoodle. She is fabulous.
Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

Sorry too man. I lost 2 of my cats last year. One was 17 and the other was 18. They were male and female and were like husband and wife. They always slept together all curled up on each other, bathed each other, always ate together, everything. The male starting getting really skinny so we took him to the vet and they were going to have to do exploratorive surgery on his kidneys. My parents didn't want to put him through that and figured he had lived a happy 18 yrs so they had him put to sleep. The female was so attached that they were afraid she was be so depressed without him that she would die soon so they had her put to sleep with him at the same time. My parents took them back to their house and buried them together. They are right next to my cat that I got when I was 5 that lived to be 19 but had to be put to sleep because of kitty cancer in her mouth.

I'll probably get a dog once I have a bigger house.

I think about that every now and again, but hopefully my dog Pistolita will live until i'm in my 30's she's a big baby now, so hopefully that'll keep her younger...
