Ok, so I am about to go to bed am I'm feeling very generous. And I know that there are some things that you kiddies have been wanting from MT but either don't have the money or are too lazy to buy. Well, I hope to relieve that and I will hold my own contest and you can win these wonderful things!!! However, I need a contest to hold so everyone has an equal chance, but also so that each person can win it w/ some kind of effort(no random drawings *cough* centercap contest*cough*). I also wouldn't mind buying multiple people things. I'd like to have some kinda hierarchy, where the top person wins any MT gift of their choice for worth $100, and the 2nd place person gets $75, and 3rd gets $50. I dunno. All I know is that it'd make things interesting so throw some ideas out there for any kind of conetst that everyone has an equal chance of winning. And if you win the $100 part and you choose something thats $60, you can still get other stuff to equal $100.

One stipulation, whoever wins these things have to be regulars. Sorry, if you are reading this and have yet to sign up for MT, you can't win. I'm talkin people like jack, milos, greg, rabbit, fonc, lance, rebelyell, badfish, grimmz, stang00, stanger00, csledd, 2000GT, icefreezen, whitethunder, roushrider, and many others. Just bc I didnt name you doesnt mean you cant enter. But lets just say you better have made your presence known ..AND be able to take a picture of whatever it is that you win. All active users are eligible, if I dont like you, that will have no effect on if you win or not. Even if you don't post ALL the time, you nede to be someone that other people recognize. I will use rebelyell as an example. He's a cool guy that most ppl know, he just doesnt post a whole lot.

hmm.. I'm thinking a fun contest.. something that you don't have to go out and right an essay about, but maybe like something creative and ****.

 

yes. creativity is my #1 focus. It can be like the captioning, except I dont want hundreds of entries. Something where each person can enter a few times or maybe just once. Maybe a mspaint contest...I dunno. Somethin that can also be funny and viewable by everyone else. I dont want anything where ppl PM me their entry.

Well I'm headin to bed now. I work a fun 12 hour day tomrrow so when I get on this forum at 11 tomorrow night, I hope to see some good contests and then..LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!

do an online scavenger hunt. have a picture of something and we have ot find where it came form maybe? or an item and have us go find where it came from. I am not totaly sure how i would do that yet but thats sound slike a good one. hrmm.

 

Do a contest where you give us a background and we have to go find it in our area and take a picture of it with our stang in it. You could give us a new one every two days or something until we got 5. Whoever gets all of the pictures (or if more than one person gets all of them, you choose the best ones) wins.

So for example you could say you want a night picture with a fountain in the background or something for day one.

Day two could be you want a Hooters in the background.

Etc.

What do you think?

 

that could be really fun. but you think of stuff every town has almost. because i don't have a hooters and the only fountain we have is in the middle of a river and you can only see it going across the bridge. and i'll be damned if i get out of my car on that busy *** bridge.

 

Thats a good idea..It would probably have to be backrounds that are common to everyone though..Like the closest hooters to me is in pittsburgh so everyone might not have a hooters or something around them unless their willing to drive an hour or so. The fountain one is good also maybe railroad tracks etc.

that sounds awesome but i have nothing in my little town, and i really don't want to drive an hour or so for a couple pics...but we should definately try to do something like this, but we just need really common things to all of our towns

 

Everyone knows that if we make a contest involving backgrounds, Christie will win, she knows the BEST places to go, and damn if her camera skills arent teh best evar.

I'm in. Make it a scavenger hunt with cars. You have to get a picture of your car next to [ricer/corvette/Hummer/Duck Walker (old caprice/cadillac on 24's/etc)

do 5 or so of them and first one back with the pics wins.

 

Ok so I got a break from work and to answer a few questions...

The money is mine. It's all money that I've earned and to me, I can either not buy anything(as I already do, I never buy stuff) and have the 5 grand by june....OR have a fun contest where people can do somethin neat and just be $200 down, come june and then just save for another week...it honestly doesnt bother me. Everyone is benefitted, MT, the winners, and myself for being entertained with whatever the contest is.

As for the the other contest I held...a) it was only $25, not even worth it...b) lance killed everyone by a LONG shot...and c) I said that a certain number of people had to enter, and the number was short by a few(look up the thread, you'll see).

the scavenger hunt idea sounds cool. I just need to get the rules straightened out(like how many bg's, and what needs to be in the picture). If you dont have a digital camera, then wtf are you doing on an internet forum? As far as I know, all the current active users have an available camera to use. So throw some ideas for places that ANYONE would be able to find and take a pic with(like a pic in walmart, a pic next to a ricer). However, the only problem with a timed scav hunt(take certain pics and submit them in a certain time) is that some pepl have work or school all day and if I held it on a certain day, some couldnt participate.

I'm thinkin somethin like take as many pics of ricers in your area as you can. But like, you or your car would hafta be in the pic too, like pointing or making fun of it(so I can know you didnt just find it on the net). For examples, look at www.laughatrice.com, good stuff there. Tell me if you think that idea would work. Nobody can say there isnt any rice in their area(within a 20 mile radius). And it'd be funny to see how much rice you can find(and also be willing to take a pic with you pointing at laughing).

Another contest...I'm in for sure! I like the idea of the background thing, but i live in a pretty small town too, and im not really sure if i could find many of the things. Also, what would happen when more than one person gets all 5? Maybe if you give us just little hints of things VERY normal that any person could find in their town, and then ppl went out and tried to get the most creative pic of that thing and their car. It wouldnt have to be the best "quality" picture as far as photography goes, but just summin creative or sweet-looking. For an example, you could say:
1. your car next to a building
2. your car next to a ricer
3. and so on...
Then DannyB could judge whoever had the moest creative pictures. Just a little idea...

On the ricer thing...once again the ppl living in small towns wont be able to find many. Maybe a couple, but ppl in larger cities would definitely have an advantage.

 

sounds good, but one question. The pictures of rice we take can they be from in car? Just have us giving them the finger or something, just in case we saw them while driving?

The prob with all the "best" or "coolest" categories is that you can pretty much name the winner without having the contest at all. Dannyb, just save the money, get the blower, I will envy. I'm getting married in 2 months so the mod party is about over (:shifty: ) Enjoy it. Go to wally and spend $50 on a new microwave.

 

Can we just leave the damn ricers out of it? I like the idea of taking time on each shot trying to make it look the best instead of taking a rushed shot next to a ****ty car.

 

Make it a photo contest where each person is doing something in their car. Like an action shot.

 

we could do some sort of story where one person has to take two pictures to complete the story. it could be a picture story. You could list yourself as small town, middle sized city, or big city and be randomly put in whereever you fit. Each person must fullfill their part or is disqualified. winner could be voted by the people, after each round of elimination. it would require some smart thinking on everyones behalf.
