Well, I kinda have both. lol. In reality, I spent all the money on full bolt on's (or will this summer and 4.10 gears) but have/will also spend some good money on looks.

Overall no doubt I am a cruiser, not a racer. Sure I'll never turn down a reasonable street race, but I've never been to the track...... yet

My goal at the end of the year is to fix my body work, get a Saleen wing some Saleen rims, couple little touch ups with looks, and then finish bolt ons.
Call it a day, and be happy driving my car until I'm older and able to spend some more (heavier) amounts of money on it. Should be in about 2 years. Dont know what I want, either a 2.2KB, Twin Turbo's, single turbo on a 5.4L, or maybe a D-1/F-1 Prochager.

There'ss no way I can vote because I love the way my car looks and performs. Sure it could be faster, or certain mods could make it look better. But a)I'd NEVER buy an old fox and give it 500 rwhp and be a street monster bc I hate their looks. b) I'd never buy something that's expensive and looks beautiful but is slow as *****. However, most companies have it right, where the cars over 100 grand that look pretty sweet and are also fast.

in that case, it's for speed. But not speed to compete against cobras. I wanted a car that would come quicker than most cars out of the factory.

It kills all economy cars, and can even beat the sportier ones(vtec, type-s, scion) as well as pretty much all trucks('cept lightning). We cant go comparing our cars to supercharged cobras.

But think about it, for the price you'd expect to pay for an 03/04 cobra, you could buy a GT and mod it quite nicely. Think, $15k for the gt, 4k for the s/c. 2k for the other boltons(headers, exhaust, etc) and then another 1k for shifter, springs, and tune. BAM, for 22k you've got yourself a DD with 400 rwhp, whereas you'd expect to pay 22k MINIMUM(for a steal) to get the cobra. Sure it can expand more with its forged internals and t-56, but there's also the sleeper factor with a GT. If you have a cobra, people expect it to be fast. If you have a GT and throw 400rwhp past them, they wont know what hit 'em.

I am aiming for making my car look good 1st. Because it was a new car 2 years ago. And it economically more feasible to add looks vs. speed. Plus I (being a married family man), have to abide my warranty issues. I would love to mod the hell out of my engine and drivetrain. And I will after my stang has a few years under her belt.. Then I can make her fast and she will still look great. And wife is happy that I didn't hotrod my "New" car.. When I hotrod it it wont be new no more..

I've kinda given up on modding my GT for the most part right now. It's not going to get nearly as fast as I would like for any reasonable price and the miles are just going up on the thing. I think I might do a few more things to my car in the next few years but in the end just look into buying a cobra or something else when I am out of school. For example this semester at school I have been too poor to do anything like going out on the weekends since I spent my money on the car. I've been bored as hell. It's not really worth it right now when it means I have absolutely no money for anything else. I think I want to save some money and buy another ATV this summer anyways.

well.. I started liking mustangs back when the first 99's came out, I was in love instantly. I liked them for looks up until I had my 03 GT (got it September of 04 and had a 95 v6 before that). After I got the car and started being a lot more active on forums I started modding and since then I've mostly focused on speed... but I've also wanted it to look good, so I'm really both. But I am interested in making it cobra fast.. it's just that my bank account isn't

Always had been a truck or suv owner so I wanted a car. I looked at TransAms, BMW 351i, and Mustang. I test drove an 01 TransAm and HATED IT! It was so cramped inside and felt like I was driving a brick. I had wanted a Mustang since I was a kid so I found a few and loved the way it felt as well as being comfy inside. A friends step dad that works for BMW told me to stear clear since I would be buying used because they have a lot of electrical issues and cost out the *** to get fixed. I chose the Stang because of the appearence and desire to own one. I never intended on doing much modding to it, but thanks to this damn MustangTuning site I got suckered in lol.

I'm going for both but would say more of the crusin/looks. Simply because when all is said and done I plan on showing my car. But, at the same time if I want to get somewhere faster than normal, I want the power there.

i have seriously been considering buying a fox and building it up for speed only, i'd strip everything out that didnt make it go faster. i love foxes and im just waiting to find the right one. i'd take it to the track quite a bit but i've definitely be out racing it on the streets. but my mustang on the other hand is mostly for cruising, i like to race it all the time and i have plenty of videos that show it but i would never strip it down and take out the ac or anything most serious racers do. i want it to be a fast and nice looking car. it's a vert, if i wanted it for racing only i definitely wouldnt have bought a vert. so i guess i'd have to say it's more of a cruiser.

edit: btw, drag radials should be delivered this week...

Well I just had to chose not to long ago between modding my GT and buying a cobra..To me the cobra has the best of two worlds(style and speed). Not saying GTs do not look good becuase they do,I think they are some of the best looking cars on the road for the price range and they are not slow by any means they are just not as fast as a cobra. To build a decent GT up, you are going to need alot more than 6-8 k to make it cobra fast(500-600 hp). It just depends if you want to spend most of your money on a car payment or mods.

I've accepted that my 2v will never be fast unless i drop alot of cash in it, but i don't plan on doing that. Like i've said before, i'm either going with an ls1 swap or buy me and f-body altogether...don't know yet..I've still got 1.5 years to pay on this car.

I have a GT with a Cobra engine and Cobra styling but that all I can reveil now. It would be nice to have a Cobra but youll be another guy with a Cobra. Before this I had an SVO so rarity, stylin and speed are my top concerns.

I just want this car to beat a stock gt and sorta backup the 315s out back. Hopefully the 4:10s will help, being installed as I type this. So basically, I want something faster than stock, looks slightly different, but I can still get in and cruise in anytime I choose (dependability).

are you talkin about "modded cobra" fast? or "stock cobra" fast? There's a HUGE difference. You can realistically buy a bone stock GT, go to MPH and get their novi2000 mongoose kit and have it installed/tuned/everything for exactly $5,000. Then buy an intercooler for the remaining $1,000 and BAM, for $6k, you have 400rwhp, which will beat any stock(or slightly modded) cobra

Well well well...
I had my Six cylinder for looks and cruising, damn did i love that car, it looks SO mean coming down the street... I still cant get over that car
My new GT, well, i can only hope to make it look as mean and have as much street presence as my old six had... i would have LOVED to keep the old six and modded the crap out of it, drop in a v8... but reliability issues and everything, the car was just getting too old. So the GT i have now... i believe i have it for cruising and looks, even though it is uglier than my old car... for now.
I was driving the other week, going back towards home and my dad had taken my old car out for a drive, and we past eachother... that car was jaw-dropping...
OK i am done reminising... we still have it, thank god...

sorry I should of said modded...I know you can get 400 out of a GT with a supercharger etc. but thats as far as you are going to go then you have to tear into the block, transmission, rear end etc. which is going to cost much more money to where you slap a whipple on a cobra and put another 2,000 into it for cooling and you have almost 600 hp

agreed...some even push it to 425, but still....thats it and then you have to pay about another 5K to get a new shortblock and have it installed...then you have to worry about the tranny.......so true man

*bump* yeah, I'm late but anyways

A & B, though I'm concentrating more on speed for now.

It isn't "modded 03 Cobra" fast but it's fast enough for now. I've already surprised quite a few cars that are "supposed" to be faster than my 2V. And this is only the beginning.
