3.73 or 4.10
Which one would you prefer,
How high does the engine rev in 5th gear at say 80 mph? and how bad is the fuel consumption? basically i gotta drive long distanced every couple months... |

srry..had to say that...im sure that uve seen that...but if u drive long distances..then get the 3.73's...cause 4.10's will burn a hole in ur pocket from gas |
4.10's burning a hole in your pocket in gas is a bunch of BS I drive a lot on the highway and in the city its not that big of a difference
|
i will get gears eventaully i jsut got to pay of my parents are 3 grand:wallbash: but the crap i bought
|
3.73 b/c I too do a lot of highway driving (and averaging 100mph daily would suck with 4.10's)

Your tire's diameter is 25.579 inches At 80 MPH in 5th gear, your motor is turning at 2,887.9 RPM |
well yer a six and you could use all the help ya can get... I would def go 4:10's
unless you do alot of highway driving... (reason for me considering 3.73s) |
Im at about 3k rpm at 80 with the 3.73's. You wont be disappointed either way, so maybe go 3.90s?
|
If you actually go the speed limit gas isnt bad.......4.10's actually save me from getting tickets and using to MUCH gas on the highway.
|
yea...4:10's
lol thats what im gettin but i have an auto so i need all the help i can get!! i say take the risk and go 4:10 |
the engine will be running at like 2000 to 2500 give or take some...
i think that is safe |

i think that is safe well like he said it'll be cruisin at 2,9k rpm's with 4.10's and idk if thats a good idea as i do take around 6-8 long distance trips a year... Basically I understand what each does, but I don't know if it's ok to run the engine that high for that long... on the other hand it may help me reduce speed and therefore reduce speeding tickets...lol |
i had 3.73 in mine and got up to like 90-100 in 3rd and then hit the gov in 4th gear. But i dont have a clue what 410s woudl be like. I knwo 3.73s had me filling up my tank more often. just like a day or 2 earlier than what i had been
|
well that estimate is not fully accurate...
i mean and with 3.73's ur only a couple hundred rpms lower than that so ur better off staying stock if ur worried about it |
i have 4.10s in my car and i drive alot of highway miles(cars at 94K on the odometer), in 5th gear Im either 3500 or exactly 4000 rpm i cant remember at 80 mph(kinda late posting this so brains not working fully lol). My gas is actually really good just drive it right and dont hit the gas like your on the drag strip all the time and you'll be fine. o and just by chance this runs through your mind with my gears i still hit 135-140 so top end.
|
buy 3.73s and if ya dont like em i'll take em off yer hands :shifty:
|
go with the 4.10's i wouldn't even consider 3.73's with our sixers we need the help...
