Just a thought
So I have been searching for a place to dyno my car and there is really only one place in my area and its not even that close. I ran the idea past my dad about getting a dyno and starting a performance and tune shop. We have a building that would be perfect for it. And I am pretty sure that there is a market for it in my area. His current buisness is right next to a hot rod shop that restores vintage cars and muscle cars. This is just an idea but I wanted to know what you guys think about it. I really have no idea what goes into a buisness like that because i have never even been to a dyno before. Its just an idea but if its somthing that looks like will be profitable im sure we will seriously consider it.

That is freaking weird, my dad has been working with one of our neighbors, a fellow corvettte owner to open a place like that that does dyno, restos and other simple things for vettes and other classic cars, the cool thing is free lifetiime dyno tunes!! He said he may even le t anyone get on the dyno though i think it would be funny cuz we have tons of ricers in my area, If anyone is looking to get their car tuned in the next year or so in the KC area, they should look us up

I thought dynos were like 50+K, especially with all the electronics that go with it. And my tuner spent a couple years in Florida training with SCT. Also, he has a full lift, which was about 15K, which makes me think the dyno woould be way more.

I would think that a dyno could be leased! In fact, I would bet that a dyno manufacturer would prolly give you a machine for a hourly rental rate being paid back to the company. You just need to ensure that you have enough customers.
Learning to tune is not that hard. SCT has a training program.
