Default Jarhead

Just bought this movie on DVD. Never saw it in the theater but I really enjoyed this movie and found myself with my mouth hung open throughout most of it. I am not in the USMC nor have I ever been anywhere close to any type of war. Any of you see this movie? What did you think of it? One of the better war movies I have ever seen. The beginning reminded me a lot of Full Metal Jacket. This is one I will watch over and over. Hats off to Jake Jylenhall.

...saw it in theaters expecting what the trailers leaded me to beleive...a bad *** war action movie...

not a bunch of marines walking around and playing little games in the desert..

I wouldve liked it alot more if I didnt expect it to be an action movie

Yes I knew before going into it that it was not a bad *** war action movie. I knew it was supposed to depict what went on in the desert during the war and what Marines went through. Still a great movie even though there was no blood and guts everywhere. For a guy that was never there, I feel like it really did a good job getting the point across.

Yeah I saw it in theatre. I was forewarned about it not being what trailers made it out to be so I enjoyed it too. I've never been on the front lines, but I can somewhat understand what he was going through. Especially the scene where that officer told him to not take his shot. Been in that type of situation myself with officers telling me not to do what I was sent to do. It sucks. Overall I enjoyed the flick....funniest moment was when he was writing on the chalk board and the DS asked how he wound up in the corps.

I thought it was pretty good. It probably wasn't so much action because it was based on the book, not on just the war in general. Did any of your read it? There were some pretty cool things in it that were left out of the movie.

Def wasn't the best war movie I've seen. It was alright....more action equals mo better.
