Default Rotor ?

How hard is it to installed cross drilled and slotted rotors? I saw that the Cobra conversion doesn't come with them and was just going to get the rotors and install them with my stock calipers (probably panit them) If I do paint them does anyone know was kind of paint I should use?

I have never swapped rotors...I'm assuming it's pretty easy...I can do brakes.
Do you think the caliper would look good chrome or would that he too much? I might just do black. I kind of like red but I don't have Baer brakes.

Yeah...I love how the red looks behind some chrome...maybe a slightly dark blue...I dont really have color on the car so it's kind of diff. from let's say having a red car...I think I'll do the red anyways, I like the look too much. I'll be getting Cobra brakes down the road when my car is fast enought to need them. You can use the cross drilled and slotted rotors from this site with the Cobra kit right or do they need to be special ones. I know the kit is 13 inch, how wide are the the rotors that are drilled and slotted?

Went to discount auto got a black brake caliper paint kit. Ordered up some high temp silver vinyl mustang inserts and after painting them black put them on then applied some high temp clearcoat about 3 coats worth. and also did the caliper guard silver while I was at it. Not bad for a $20 project on my rear calipers it says mustang down the side....

Nice...I think I will probably paint them red. How long did it take to take off the caliper and prep it for paint? Is it pretty simple?

ummmmm I did all four at once and it took me all night because taking them off isnt the problem thats cake walk....get like 3 cans of degreaser and caliper prep on comes in the caliper kit but you'll need a lot depending on how much junk is on them they need to have absolutely no junk on them. Next time consuming part is puting on the coats you have to wait like 10-20 min between coats and then that gows the same for the clearcoat. Do it in a garage with the door shut and I hope you do it on a dry cool day if not it will take longer to dry. Make sure they are absolutely dry when you pic them up because sometimes they will lok dry but actually they are not and the paint will tear/slide off and you'll have to take the paint off the whole thing and do it again (Did that once but it was on the back so I didnt worry). Other than that be very patient and have lots of beer and something to watch.

How many coats of paint did you use, I don't want to have to redo them.

3 of the black and 2-3 of the clear coat. You'll have to redo them eventually like in 2.5 years from now but mine have gone for about a year now and they still look great.
