Default Clock conversion

Hello knowledgeable Mustang people.

As you`ll have noticed I`m from Scotland so getting info on my car is pretty difficult hence asking on here so thanks and bear with me.

I have 2003 GT and its a canadian import. The speedo is in Km ph which not only does my **** in its distracting me when driving. I`ve looked at overlays from LRS (not many companies ship abroad ) and noticed they come with a needle remover tool . How difficult a job is this ? What's the chances of me ******* the show up and ending with bust gauges? I really would prefer Mph. What's my options here?

Any input appreciated .

It's not difficult, you just have to make sure you replace the needle as exact as possible, or it will be off. You can verify that you got it right with a GPS or something similar.

Its a very simple and tasteful upgrade. There's only one thing you have to do to insure you get it right. Before you start taking things apart, turn the ignition switch to the ON position, this will set the position where the gauge needles need to be put back on and take a picture of where they are. Piece of cake.

The easiest way to remove the needles is using a small kitchen fork (the kind you eat with) just stick the tines under the needle base gently pry up, the curl in the fork is perfect for this.

Caution, when putting the needles back on, you dont want to push them down too far because they may drag on the new overlay. Just be careful and it will be worth the effort. Good Luck

Thanks for the replies guys.
I just am a bit wary of the needle removing thing incase i **** things up as i can be a clumsy bastard. Last thing i need is a set of bingoed clocks , lol.

I`ll take it slow.

they make 3 piece overlays that don't require you to remove needles. if you are really nervous about doing it look into these types first to see if you like the appearance of them
