Default Is there something wrong with my transmission?

I start up my car in the morning (or whenever), and when I put it into drive from park, it kinda jolts forward. Is this a problem with my trans or what? If I sit there for a minute and let my rpms go down below 1000 it doesnt give as strong of a jolt forward.

Sounds pretty normal. With an auto it will always want to move forward, or backwards if you have it in reverse. The brakes are the only thing keeping it from moving. A change in the line pressure from park or neutral will cause it to want to creep forward. Just like, if you press the gas to raise the RPMs and then drop it into drive, it's going to want to jump forward. On my old v6, I had the rpms turned up enough and perhaps the gears helped, but it would roll pretty good in stop and go traffic without ever pressing the gas.

An auto will always want to jump forward or backward when you put it in gear. The colder your trans. and motor the worse it is. Not to worry. When you put it in gear and it doesnt jump a little......then you worry.
