Default Help-How do I remove ABS Control Module on 99 Cobra?

I believe my abs control module is going out. I found a place i have used before on another vehicle that can rebuild it for 160, instead of paying dealer price of 1184-without labor!

I know right where it is, in the front, behind radiator on passenger side, and there are 6 bolts that hold it to the control unit.

It is so close to the frame though, i can barely see the bottom bolts and not sure if i can even get a socket or anything in there to remove it without undoing the brake lines from the control unit-which i do not want to do!

Has anyone removed theirs and know how to get it out safely so i can send it in and get repaired without disconnecting any brake lines? I seems like the whole unit only has a couple bolts to move it, but i dont think the brakes lines have any or much play in them to get it off, or do they?

thanks.

Brake lines have to come off regardless to take it off so just take them off. If your worried about bleeding your brakes you will be doing it for awhile regardless when you take it off.

agreed. better do it right the first time. best part about repairs is you end up servicing parts you might not have in a while. thats the way i look at it anyway.
