Need advice on Mods

hey, well as u probobly know im kinda new to all this. I just installed some interior underdash neons in my car.

But im looking into REAL mods. i have very basic car knowledge and i need a quick and fast way to boost my power. something bang for the buck.
what would u adivse me to look into?

4.10 gears, they wont boost your power but your car will pull much harder.

bassman97 09-30-2008 07:45 PM

Rear lower control arms. No use in making more power if you can't plant it.

Dodobird223 09-30-2008 07:52 PM

4.10's, and a tune. Makes your car mean in a hurry, and if you REALLY want a CAI, get one off ebay. The CAI doesn't do to much except make it a bit louder.

What's your budget?

gotMACH04 09-30-2008 07:56 PM

pi swap

Stephen4036 09-30-2008 08:38 PM

4:10's Fo Sho

King 09-30-2008 10:44 PM

SC, 3.73s, tuner.

M_Stang 09-30-2008 11:07 PM

well depending on what your budget is?
if your like me and BROKE!!!
Then Gears Can Be kinda Spendy "Because you say you have a basic knowledge" your gonna wana have em instaled
INSTALATION = $$$$$$$
A good first start is a Cold Air Intake
Simple
Inexpensive
Give a little bit of power!!!

Good idea. If money is tight, I've heard the K&N filter from advanced or autozone works almost as good if not as good at top CAIs. I've got JLT Ram Air, and I encourage that as a satisfied customer. But K&N is cheap and something you can try before spending the bigger bucks on a name brand.

M_Stang 09-30-2008 11:36 PM

ya
I mean if your really tight on Money you can buy a K&N air filter and take off the Silencer from your stock intake!! POWER ON THE CHEAP!!!

induction, 4.10's, lower control arms, x/h pipe, handheld tuner.

That's about $1200 in parts. Install of gears, control arms, mid pipe would run you around $500. Should make your car sound a feel a bit quicker, but nothing too major. It may put you in the stock 99-04 gt's territroy.

Stephen4036 10-03-2008 05:45 PM

Spend 60 bucks on the LIFETIME WARRANTIED KN FILTER!! when its dirty u wash it off!!! and take off the little silence that connects airbox to fender...

Type R sticker FTW

I would get gears.

Flowmasters for the sound you want......and a simple dry nitrous system. nothing you can do will give the "bang for the buck" as a nitrous system.

spike_africa 10-06-2008 11:24 AM

Wet is the way to go.

M_Stang 10-06-2008 11:53 AM

ya by all means if you have the money Go with the nitrous Set up

stangcharger 10-06-2008 12:26 PM

yes wet is better, that for the correction. a CAI and headers would cost what a simple nitrous system does, and not give you half the HP.

Gears.
