rear pass. brake line warning

I just wanted to share an experience I had about 2 months ago that some of you guys might find helpful. I think it may be related to
https://mustangboards.com/general-te...ake-issue.html

I was driving down the road (doing speed limit) and went to slow down for a light, as I was slowing down, I hit a small bump and let off the brake. As I re-applied the brake, it went to the floor and I had very little stopping power. I downshifted and used the E-brake to stop. luckily I was next to a car shop and pulled it in there. They lifted my car and found that the rear passenger side brake line had a hole rubbed in it.
basically, as the car squats the shocks shift and rub against the brake line. My shocks have a bit of texture (rust?) to them so they, over 10 years, wore a hole in the rubber line. Luckily, they did it in about an hour and charged a whopping $45.
Anyhoo, I would recommend checking out that brake line.... maybe it was just mine...

This has been an active concern for me. My suspension and brakes are very un-stock and I have had a little trouble with the hardlines rubbing thanks to that. Solution was to bend each and every hard line for clearance and use shrink tube and zip ties for the flex lines to keep them out of the way. Soft lines should be replaced with steel braided lines IMO. They're a helluva lot tougher.

yea, if i had the money, id prefer to do that.... i just had them slightly bend the metal part of the line.... hope that holds for the next 10 years. :-)
