I have a 02 mustang GT with 66,000 miles on it.

I want to get 4.10 rear gear but i wanna use my stock differential and axles with them... will i be ok with that set up? i am pushing about 250HP to the WHEELS and about 280tq to the wheels...and my car visits the track every now and then...
I would just rather not spend the extra money ( that i dont have) on a new ford 31 spline T-lock and new 31spline moser axles right now..


Lemmy know from those that use 4.10 with stock rear end ...

 

You will be fine.Everyone uses the stock stuff untill they start to add alot of HP or the stock stuff needs replaced.Not alot of people ever changing to a new ford 31 spline T-lock and new 31spline moser axles just for a gear change.

 

yea..that what I thought..i aint pushing A whole lotta HP so I guess I can get the 4.10 now rather than LaTeR

 

You will be fine.You might want to replace some of the seals and stuff like that but thats it.

 

I would be getting the Motive master bearing kit with it...

Oh...and I plan on obviously filling it up with the royal purpel gear oil.....should I use friction modifier as well? or does royal purpel already have that in it??? i dunno

 

i have 4.10s and a bearing kit, and have been running on them for 4 years with a fully built motor and nothing has broke, etc...

The RP already has it in it I'm pretty sure.

There's v6 stangs running around with over 300rwhp on the weaker 7.5" /w 4.10s and they haven't had problems..you shouldn't either..lol
