Default BBK 1763

Hello…..I was wondering if the BBK 1763 really makes a difference, The reason I ask is that the only mod I made was putting a cold air intake, and the rest of the engine is stock on my 2005 Mustang GT. I’m interested in buying one, but I really need an honest answer as to weather it really makes a difference if you don’t have the right mods to get the results. I appreciate your response & timeJ Thanks

I can't even find what 1763 is on their site? You mind telling us what it is?

BBK 1763* Twin 62mm 05-07 GT Mustang throttle body

I'm gonna have to go with a no. There was no price, but most TB's run around 150-200$. If you didn't already, you need to get a tune for your CAI instead. The 05+'s see some pretty decent gains if you get a tune.

Yes. I installed the BBK twin 62mm TB on my 07 GT with no other mods at all, and the difference was notable. The throttle response was definitely livelier. As for power, I don't have numbers, but i'd say it feels like an extra few HP.

I then added the Steeda complete CAI, plus a 93 octane tune with the SCT Xcal3, and the difference is substantial. Well worth it. Sounds better too.

Default BBK

Hey Richard....Let me know if you are having any trouble with it sticking as I have been hearing from different folks here. Did you install it yourself?

Alain - no, no problems with it sticking at all. I was amazed at how easy the install was, and I'm a complete novice with modern car engines. I was a bit intimidated with the install at first, but i needn't have been...very straightforward and the instructions were easy to follow and accurate.

Hey Richard....What other mods have you done to it other than the BBK? Do you feel the difference much?

Sorry, I just back read your mods you did on your car. I have ordered the SCT Xcal 3, and can't wait to get mine tuned. I got the CAI but I haven't bought the BBK yet. I just kept hearing people saying that its not that great.....Still trying to decide.

I must admit i've read a number of posts from folks having issues with the BBK TB. So far so good for me, but hey, if you're worried it might make sense to go with the Granatelli if you can deal with the extra $100. It looks like a better part, and they claim it doesn't have the gearing issues. Judging by the pic it also comes with its own spacer & seal, which the BBK doesn't....and as I look at the pic again I realize it looks cool too...damn, wish i'd sprung for it myself!
