Default How do I seal my new headlights?

Hi Everyone,

Just got my new headlights and need to seal them before I get them installed. I read a couple threads about nasty condensation getting in.

I know I need RTV sealant. But where do I put it on the light? I realize it needs go go around all joined areas, but do I need to do the ENTIRE casing? Will this effect the fit of the light assembly?

Thanks for your help.

put them in the oven at 250* for 15 minutes pull them out and squeeze the two halves together. wear gloves when you do this, any kind of mechanics or moto X gloves will do.

add RTV to. it will not effect the way the light fits.

ive always been afraid to put them in the oven due to fear of the chrome plastic inside getting messed up

I just used the RTV sealant I bought at Auto zone. The oven thing sounded scary to me. Hopefully the sealant will help 'em last. I had the new headlights installed today... they look great.

Thanks for the input.
