weak start???
most of the time when the car is started its sounds like the battery is dying and it barly turns over, ive checked the voltage in the battery and that is not the problem. could it be the starter or maybe the wiring? Its never failed to turn over it just sounds really weak. So its not a big problem but it still bugs me

An dead/ or dieing battery may still read good voltage I've seen this personally. What you need to check is the amps. Take your battery to an auto parts store, have them check with a bench tester. This puts the battery through a series of load and non-load tests. Basically it tries to fail the battery. Also, if your battery is older than 4 years or a cheap store brand it most likely needs to be replaced anyway. I don't think a bad IAC would cause sluggish starting, IAC and the starter are not related. But a bad IAC would prevent a car from firing up but not turning over.

I just had the same issues with my Montero and it turned out it was the starter. The vehicle was cranking slower and slower every time. Eventually it just wouldnt start. I even tore it out and bench tested it and it seemed to spin fine. I put it back in and still nothing. So I took it back out and opened it and it was all burned up inside. So leason learned: dont rule out the starter.
Any kind of loose battery connections that disrupts full voltage to the starter for a period of time can cause this. In my case I had put the battery cable back on and forgot to tighten it down. It was that way for about a week and I believe that is what finally killed my starter.

yeah i went to start it last night and the thing barely had enough juice to turn the starter. on the second try it just clicked and wouldnt move. im going to run the battery up to auto zone and let them test it. ill let yall know today if thats the issue. how much is a starter anyways?

so i removed the battery today(factory ford motorcraft) and went to auto zone and yes it was dead. i bought a new one and it runs like a champ.
The battery in there was 6 years old, just wondering how long some of you guys battery's has lasted?
