Default abs when changing rotors?

I'm changing rotors for first time and they are stuck like a sucka!! Is there something I'm missing..I've removed caliper and now trying to bang the old rotor off! Are there any special tricks to this?

me again..The reason for the ABS in the question is that I read somewhere online that the ABS may have to be disabled in order to remove the rotors. Is there any truth to this or are rotors just that hard to remove! There is a small torx bolt on the spindle with a hose line leading upwards is this for the ABS? this bolt is on the spindle not the caliper itself..and it leads in towards the wheel well? please help I'm a first timer!

You don't need to remove the ABS to remove the rotor. Did you remove the push-nuts on the studs? Ford puts 2-3 of these washer looking things on the wheel studs to keep the rotor in place. If that doesn't work, just wack to back of the rotor until it loosens.

my rotors did not have the push nuts or clips on the studs. I just had to be persistent and aggressive with a big hammer to break the rust adhesion from the old rotors. Success at last!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
