Default H.I.D. Kits

Hello eveyone,
I was thinking about purchasing a H.I.D. light kit for my 2001 Mustang GT. However, I was told that these kits are not legal, because they produce too much glare and blind other drivers. I was also told that these kits are really incompatible with halogen housings. I just wanted to hear opinions from those Mustang owners who have installed them.

I have them on my car right now. What you hear is right. You do produce a lot of glare for oncoming traffic, and it makes your existing forlights look incredibly yellow.

I've got a set on my 07 and I love them. I can tell you though, I will probably have to take these bad boys out when I return to the states. They are extremely bright and with the kit I bought I lost high beam function(doesn't matter). I get the flash all the time from these German drivers but I really couldn't care less until the police pull me over... You'll probably be able to get away with an HID kit on your SN95 because of the smaller headlights, so the housing helps to naturally focus the beam. Try them out, worst case, your headlights look sweet as hell!

Here is my car with them:

They are legal and they do not produce a lot of glare as long as you properly readjust your headlights. If you just installed them and don't do anything to the headlights yes you will be blinding everyone then.

Using a from of lighting in a housing that wasn't meant to use that type of lighting IS illegal. And you DO produce quite a bit of glare for oncoming traffic. The only way to get a good beam patten out of a reflector housing (like mustangs) is to retro fit a set of projectors from a car that came with HIDs from the factory. Don't even bother arguing otherwise, the DOT has rules for a reason.
