Default 16 hour drive with s/c

I am going to mardi gras this coming monday. Were leaving right after I get out of class. I am wondering how the car will act driving that far. Its really just 8 hours one way. Im going from middle tennessee all the way to new orleans. I wont be getting on it very much at all. It just cruises fast enough for me. Since I added the s/c my comfortable cruising speed in 5th gear is about 90mph. Thats probably about what ill be doing the whole way down there. The car will be heavy since well have bags in the trunk and another guy along with me.

Im hoping it wont use too much gas. Maybe Ill only have to fill up twice each way. I think its about 550 miles to there. Ill try and bring an extra belt with me, I seemed to have cured the shredding problem I was having, but I can still hear a hard noise coming from the pullies when i get on it.

Anything else I need to do? All the fluids and everything are good. brakes are new and tires.

Bring a extra idle pulley, belt, and a tool kit. And stop being a girl and just drive the car...lol

i did a couple 3k mile trips with my blower and only thing that i had go wrong is my idle pulley. it was squeaking before i even left on my trip and 600 miles in it failed. other then that it was smooth sailing. with my tunes i got better mileage going between 70-75 then at 65.

sounds good. I think my idlers are in good shape, but my belt tensioner is a different story. Its pretty much shot. Thats the harsh sound ive been hearing at wot. I found out cause I pulled on the belt and it moves like almost 6 inches. The tensioner has no more tension in it. I think itll be fine, but im pretty sure my belt is going crazy at wot since theres no tension its just freely moving. I think itll be fine till I get back.

If this happens as you describe, I definately would not be driving that thing on any sort of trip until it is fixed. You are playing Russian Roulette with 5 bullets in the chamber.

just take a new belt and a new tensioner incase that **** breaks on you.

its a easy change the hardest part would be just getting the belt on.

I would just do it before you leave. That thing is gonna go sooner or later. Might as well happen when you can control it.

Also, I got to belive that your tune and performance is not good either.

hmmm, thats prolly the reason my car doesnt seem quite what it should be for what it has. Well im leaving today. Im pretty sure itll be fine till I get back tho im just going to be gone for 2 days. Ill take a look at it in a little while to see if I would be able to change it before we leave. The hard part is getting to the tensioner behind that vortech bracket. I dont know how to loosen the tension on it. I can do it with this one cause its shot but a new one will be a pain trying to move it.
