Question Please Help ! Console Removal and Installation

Hoping some of you more than knowledgable stang guys could help me out. My center console was damaged and needed replaced. (2003 Mustang GT) I got a great deal on one from ebay, same color mint and just started the install. The old one was damaged so i just unbolted it, unplugged the leads for cig lighter and other wiring, used a bit of excessive force and got it out, of course it cracked while doing so which is fine for the old one.

The problem is I cant get the new one to clear the ebrake handle, and have tried to no avail to remove it. Can anyone chime in and offer any soloutions, has anyone ever changed the center console or removed the ebrake handle? thanks for any help you may give...

You need to pull up on the ebrake, get it as high as you can. Put the front down first, then slide it over the ebrake. If you cant do it, its because you dont have the ebrake up enough.

Thanks I tried that tugged so hard I thought something was going to bend/break. But I finally got it on my own. Took both seats out, pretty painless eight bolts total and a plug on the drivers side. It made the console a BREEZE to put in. And since it was a boring Sun, I took the time to collect my pocket change (over 2 bucks YAY!!!) and vacum the carpet. Also did a nice clean and condition of the leather --- or Ford's version of leather lol
