Default how often do YOU change your mobile 1?

First up i have an 06 V6. Last oil change i used mobile 1 and a motorcraft filter. i've been told i could go for 5,000 miles between changes using the synthetic, but i'm still using the motorcraft filter and the oil on the dipstick looks really shitty. Since its been about 3,000 miles, should i change the oil again? Also is the motorcraft oil filter really the best one for our cars?

Stick w/ the Mororcraft filter. As for the oil change interval, the manual recommends you do it every 5,000 miles but if you do a lot of stop-go (city) driving, do it every 3,000 miles.

not to jack the thread but how often should i change my oil under these conditions

- non synthetic
- I mainly just do city driving
- i only have 16,0XX miles on it
should i stick with every 3k miles, every 3 months or every 6 months?

it takes me about a year or less to add another 3k on my car

A pretty knowlegeable mechanic told me once that all oil starts to break down after 3,000 miles.

No oil not even regual non syn needs to be changed at 3k miles. Oils now days are far more advanced then back in the day. I change mine between 5-7k miles.

I use Mobil 1 also, and the "garage" I go to uses a "6 Month/6,000 Mile" time frame, but I usually do it at about 5 Months/5,000 Miles.
