new shift boot. how to get old one off

Default new shift boot. how to get old one off

so i bought an 05 shift **** for my 99 gt right? well turns out the boot on the 05 shift **** attaches to the **** itself unlike my gt. it came with a boot but i don't know how to get the old boot off the base of the original. can anyone help?

Just pull it off.....it's held in place by clips that are plastic.

i believe MattJ has one in his, and i was looking at a Supercharged 94 cobra that had one too. so i think someone makes one that has the 94-04 thread design

Yeah I have an 05 shift **** on mine. I cant say for sure but it came packaged like it was a ford oem part, but I know the threads are different. I paid about 28 bucks shipped for mine on ebay when the 05s FIRST came out.

Yeah mine fits too. I wanna know if anyone knows how to remove the boot from the bezel itself. It looks like the plastics were welded together or something.
