suspect drivetrain
I own a 1998 white cobra coupe(23k mi), and recently had some upgrades--JLT cold air intake, Steeda underdrive pulleys, Steeda short throw shifter, Ford Racing 3.73 gears, Magnaflow catback exhaust, and SCT X calibrater 2 tune from American Muscle. The car definately has more punch and faster acceleration. However, I have noticed what seems to be some kind of drivetrain problem. When going from coasting to back on the gas pedal there seems to be a half second delay followed by what sounds like the clutch engaging again. A friend mentioned it might have something to do with throttle cable. Any help would be appreciated.

wheb you did the tune... did you tune for high octane gas?
that could be a problem if you didnt fill with 93/91 (whatever is in yer area) after draining the 87... check yer MAF... coulda got dirty when putting in yer CAI... clean that I bet one of those possible problems are to blame |
when u said that it sounded like the clutch enguaging again...i come to the conclusion its just normal tranny noise. i have the same thing and i believe that it is due to the heavy materials (steel driveshaft mostly). switching to an aluminum driveshaft should get rid of some of the tranny noise
