left and right

easy question but just want to be sure, when it comes to the body of the car, is the driver side right and passenger left like the motor?

whitethunder46 11-19-2006 06:16 PM

Other way around I'm 99% sure.

Left and Right is based on sitting in the car, so left fender would be driver side fender... right fender would be passenger side fender.

gotMACH04 11-19-2006 06:57 PM

it is the other way with the motor, correct?

whitethunder46 11-19-2006 09:42 PM

give me an example with the motor, what do you mean?

gotMACH04 11-20-2006 05:56 PM

drivers side head = right head
passenger side head = left head

ty, why backwards for the body?

Jack The Ripper 11-20-2006 07:43 PM

Just ignore left and right and go with Drivers side and passenger side.

gotMACH04 11-20-2006 07:54 PM

i dont mean to be a nag, but when i order, items are described as left and right

Ghostalker 11-20-2006 08:42 PM

ok then, give us an example of what you are looking at... yeah the intake is on the 'left side' but it is easier to say the passenger side (aibag, header, exhaust tip, mirror, seat, headlight etc)

gotMACH04 11-21-2006 06:08 AM

i need the driver side inner finder (splash shield) and they are sold as left and right, and before i ordered it, i wanted to be sure from what view the left and right of the car was

Randy Stinchcomb 11-21-2006 06:13 AM

as far as FoMoCo goes, leftside ANYTHING is the driverside and rightside is the passenger side. the car is ALWAYS viewed as from sitting in the drivers seat. nothing else, even on the engine, # 1 cyl is rightside front and # 8 cyl is leftside rear
