I really don't know much about gears so if you guys can give me so advice. I have a 96 GT with CAI, Flowmaster catback, O/R h-pipe. Soon I hope to have headers and some programing. All of this before the gears go in.

 

Is your car a 5 speed or manual? Do you do a lot of highway driving? Do you plan on getting a supercharger? Gears aren't going to add any HP, but they will get you into your power band quicker, which makes it feel like you've gained hp. It's probably the best bang for your buck mod, depending on if you can get someone that doesn't charge and arm and leg to install them.

If you have a manual I personally think the best all around gear are the
3:73's, but everyone will probably tell you to get 4:10's or you'll regret it. It just depends on what you have in store for the car.

Can someone make a sticky about gears and just lay it all out there cause this seems to be the most popular question on this forum. Just a suggestion.

i wrote the gear thread and added pictures just to hog up space and bandwidth on this site. i think people are too stupid to pay attention now-a-days.

 

I really want to start closing threads like these until the person at least gives the search a try. If they do then Ill reopen. Well have to talk about that.
