You know that black harness you pull off the vb. Just recently a guy was doing the J Mod and that wasnt secure. He was having some problems too. So make sure that is connected right. You might have a bad sensor some where.

I dont know how you guys can say Ford autos suck. You're the ones with all the TSB's...

What kind of sensor?.....theres so many damn sensors I dont even know where to start or how to check..........that black harness is secure I checked it and a mechanic double checked it..seriously i'e had it with this problem

Still getting this trouble code...P1728 which really narrows it down. All I know its gotta be electrical now or in the computer. because it works fine then ****s up

It's gotta be the speed sensor.....its the most sensitive to damage....and can simulate the o/d flash and 4th gear loack out and go into limp mode.....its gotta be!!!!!! Need help still

Like I said it can cause the problem i'm having...and lock out my 4th gear..and I removed my tranny awhile ago I could have tapped it easily

True i know if the connector is unplugged or not connected all the way or broken, the OD will flash on you, but i don't think it made a 4th gear problem. but you said it's good to go. And the gaskets are good, check balls are in the right place and you drilled the right hole??

I know when i say autos suck, it's only because they are a PITA to work on sometimes and very sensitive also. Man, goodluck and i hope you get it straightened out.

Its a sensor.....I used my x-cal to clear the code it through and runs like a champ untill it reverts or the PCM catches on after turning the car off. I just need to figure out which one. But at least I can get from place to place without it screwing up all the time for now
