alright, so i wanna get my front, rear, and side windows tinted about as dark as i can legally go...i havn't called around to the local shops but i was just wondering if u guys could give me a price range on what I should expect to pay for such a tint job? thx

well, around my area it runs about $20 a window, and i think that is what others have usually paid.

 

On my last Gt i paid 125 bucks, for 5% tint, though he told me it was illegal, and i told him i cruise with the windows down and he said ok.

 

i paid $100, and thats that i already had tint on it, so they removed that and installed a new tint....20%front two window, 5%on rear qtr windows and rear windshield...dont think 20% is legal either....

 

I know FL and TN 20% is the lowest and legal tint.

paid 140 for 20% all around...and :stupid: didnt give me reciept either because it was illegal

 

What do the percentages mean? I'm not very knowledgable on tints, I kind of want a light/medium tint on my windows, but not too dark to where it looks like a black mirror..I just want it kind of smoked to keep it cooler in the inside....that make sensE?

 

lower the percentage the darker the tint is!

there is no factory tint on the stangs...

but 35% is the darkest you will see on most cars coming from the factory...but some have 20% in the rear windows like my moms escalade

 

just wonderin if any of u guys ever JUST get pulled over for too dark of windows...i live in illinois and they have pretty strict policies about side & front window tints...i just don't want some jerk cop 2 give me a ticket b/c my tint is too dark for his liking...

 

My parents wont let me get my front windows tinted. The reason; direct quote from my dad "If i was a cop id shoot you, because i cant see inside to see what you are doing." I think im going to go 20% all the way around and do it anyways. I always have my windows down during the spring, summer, and fall. And if i do get pulled over, dont you have to rolll down your window anyways??

 

well i've never seen anyone tint the whole front window, just the top part. there's a mark on the left side, when sitting in your car looking, and i beleive they can't go below that. plus when they pull you over, they usually walk front behind your car. everywhere i've been said 20% is legal and below that is illegal. if they think it's to dark, all the cop will do it take your license put it behind your driver side glass and if he can't read it at all, then he'll say its to dark but that's far and few and yes, i roll my down.

generally 5 0 wont jack with you about tint unless they already have u pulled over for something else. just my experience

 

My girls '00 gt has 5% OEM ford tinted windows! I already tried to see if i could scrap it off and no can do. It's great because whenever a Va state cop pulls her over and gives her a hard time about it, she rolls up the window and shows them the stamp from Ford on it and they let her go.

 

It's the percentage of light it lets in. 5% lets in 5% of light 25% lets in 25% of the light.
