idle

i have a friend who has a 98 gt. when his car is at idle its at 1k rpms. when he pushes in the clutch it jumps to 2k rpms. whats the problem?

Have him clean his IAC, if that doesn't work, check for vaccum leaks, if that doesn't work, clean the MAF element with electrical cleaner..one of those should fix his problem.
