Rear Brake lights constantly on!!!

I just noticed a few days ago, that when i turn the key to the on position but not started, the brake lights come on and stay on until i turn the key to off. I checked the fuses, swapped the brake switch above the brake pedal. Then i unplugged the brake switch turned the key to on, and the brakes still light up. Has anyone had this problem. It sounds to me like a short somewhere.

are you sure that's the brake lights and not the parking light? Just checking...

nope, headlights are off, but stick the key and turn it to on but not start, and the brakes lights, even 3rd brake light is full glow.

4. non workin cig lighters (i cant charge my cell phone)
5. a shorted wire (dont know where it is) which drains my batt in 2 weeks time

well, that made my day. Now i see that my wiring problem isn't as bad as others. That sounds like a wiring nightmare.
Are you going to get a good/used wiring harness or try to redo some of them?
I might have to cut and re-run the brake wiring so i don't have to run the wires down. and i know how some ford wires are, it starts out black with red stripe and it goes into a wire bundle and then when you look after the bundle, there is no black with red stripe, it change colors and you have to find the new color.

No... theres a guy in my area that specializes in that stuff (he also intalls car alarms)

he's over at eastcoaststang.com

i'm gonna have him throw an alarm that makes the pad beep when the alarm goes off... and he's gonna straighten out all the other bull**** too...

thats if i can get a job and get alots of $$$$...

i already need a grand for wheels + tires, more money for tail lights, and more for other misc stuff... so i'm gonna be workin hard in a week or so... it'll be worth it though...

^*EDIT* and i'm glad i made your day^
